UNIQLO's Support Initiatives For Special Olympics Nippon

Since August 2002, when it first provided apparel for National Summer Games volunteers in Tokyo, UNIQLO has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to Special Olympics Nippon by donating more than 37,000 articles of clothing in support of a wide range of competitive events. These items have included official uniforms, Airtech jackets, windbreakers, zip-up hoodies, caps and T-shirts. UNIQLO and other Fast Retailing Group companies also regularly send staff members to assist with SO Nippon events as volunteers.

The Special Olympics is an international sports organization that provides opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities to train and compete throughout the year.

The 2012 Special Olympics Japan National Winter Games in Fukushima will give athletes with intellectual disabilities from throughout Japan the chance to display their skills in a competitive environment. The results of these games will be used to select the Japanese National Team, which will participate in the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
