Following the success of its first Singapore store opened in April, UNIQLO is to open its second Singapore store, the ION Orchard Store, on Friday August 7, 2009 in the lively Orchard Road shopping area in Central Singapore. The ION Orchard Store will be located in the newly opened ION commercial facility, a new landmark on the busy shopping street.

UNIQLO will open its second store in Singapore, the ION Orchard Store, on Friday August 7, 2009 in the bustling Orchard Road shopping area in Central Singapore. The Tampines One Store opened in April has received huge support from many customers. Since its opening, that store has enjoyed a thriving business with sales reaching levels more than double our initial plan. We feel that the local people of Singapore have a high regard for and high expectations of UNIQLO.
UNIQLO’s second store, the ION Orchard Store, will be located in the new landmark ION commercial facility on Singapore’s main street, Orchard Road. The store will span two floors, B2 and B3, with direct access to the Orchard Station subway. The clear, fresh white interior will set off our vibrant color clothing perfectly, and we will also have a corner dedicated exclusively to our unique UT T-shirt range. In this original store environment, we will be preparing an early launch of our new Fall/winter season range especially for our valued Singapore customers.
UNIQLO began its global expansion in the UK in 2001. We now have stores in the UK, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, USA and France. UNIQLO Singapore is planning to open 8 stores within 3 years, and we are also now considering an expansion into neighboring countries in South East Asia.
