Statement on Employee Dispute at UNIQLO Supplier Factory in Cambodia

As some media reported on October 14, a labor dispute erupted last year in Cambodia involving some of the factory employees and the management of Zhong Yin (Cambodia) B Textile Co., Ltd., one of UNIQLO's supplier factories in Cambodia. Upon learning of the dispute in January this year, Fast Retailing urged the factory to solve the dispute with the employees through dialogue. However, since this dispute was prolonged in reaching a conclusion, Fast Retailing suspended production in August and urged the factory further to solve the dispute through dialogue.
Today Fast Retailing confirms that factory management and representatives of employees have reached an agreement through dialogue and the dispute has now been solved. The affected employees will be rehired at the factory.
Respecting human rights and ensuring fair working conditions are a top priority for Fast Retailing. To this end, the company created the Fast Retailing Group Code of Conduct for Production Partners, which clearly states that Group places great emphasis on working conditions and sustainability, as well as respecting worker rights throughout its supply chain including freedom of association.
Fast Retailing requires all of its production partners to comply with its Code of Conduct as a matter of principle.
