Fast Retailing has decided to postpone charging for shopping bags at all its UNIQLO and GU stores in Japan, although originally scheduled to begin on April 1, 2020.
Since September last year, UNIQLO and GU have been switching from conventional plastic shopping bags to environmentally conscious paper bags. Due to a schedule delay in introducing paper bags into their stores, charging will be postponed until a new start date becomes clear.
Details regarding the new start date will be announced once confirmed.
