UNIQLO Partnership Celebrates Tate Modern's 25th Birthday

Birthday Weekender celebrations kick off May 9, UNIQLO Tate pop-up store brings experiential retail,
special Tate UTme! collection and art-inspired activities to the gallery throughout Summer

Global apparel retailer UNIQLO and contemporary art museum Tate Modern today revealed UNIQLO as a partner for Tate Modern's 25th anniversary. To mark this milestone, Tate Modern will host a Birthday Weekender in partnership with UNIQLO and a new Uniqlo Tate Shop, Art For All will be open for all within the gallery throughout the summer.

Tate Modern's Birthday Weekender, in partnership with UNIQLO, will be an unforgettable free festival of music, making and performance to celebrate the gallery's 25th anniversary. Running from Friday 9 to Monday 12 May, the Birthday Weekender is a chance for everyone to enjoy a long weekend inspired by the very best of modern and contemporary art. Visitors can expect headline music acts, performances, talks, workshops, tours and a host of free experiences - from tarot readings to film screenings - alongside special food and drink offers and more. Interactive art and live performance will be at the heart of the program.

Cementing UNIQLO and Tate's long-standing global partnership, a collaborative pop-up store, Uniqlo Tate Shop, Art For All, will open from 5 May to 16 September 2025. The store will feature such popular UNIQLO services as a UTme! personalized T-shirt station and personalized embroidery and will offer a limited-edition Tate UTme! T-shirt collection alongside select UNIQLO items. A summer-long series of activities, inspired by the UNIQLO LifeWear philosophy of Art for All and Tate Modern's arts program, will invite audiences into the shop to participate in art-inspired workshops commencing at the Birthday Weekender.

25 Years of Tate Modern UNIQLO UTme! Collection
In celebration of this special birthday, UNIQLO will launch a UTme! Tate range, a collection of T-shirts that pays tribute to the iconic international, modern and contemporary artworks featured in the museum's collection displays over the years. The T-shirts feature iconic works by renowned artists such as Louise Bourgeois' giant bronze spider Maman and Salvador Dalí's Lobster Telephone, alongside new additions to Tate's collection by artists including Ayoung Kim.

Celebrate Tate Modern's 25th birthday by wearing a work of art and discovering new stories about art and artists from around the world. The full collection will be available to buy exclusively at the Uniqlo Tate Shop, Art For All pop-up store.

Partnership with Tate
Together, UNIQLO and Tate have connected millions of people through art and culture, championing a shared belief in art and play for everyone. The partnership began in 2016 with UNIQLO's support for the opening weekend of the new Tate Modern. Following this, between 2016 and 2020, UNIQLO Tate Lates engaged new and diverse audiences in London with a series of free late-night events. In 2021, the partnership evolved to encompass collaborative product collections to be sold globally and to support the creation of UNIQLO Tate Play, a free family program that enables people of all ages to get creative, learn, and playfully explore art together. In 2024 UNIQLO extended its partnership with Tate through UNIQLO Tate Play until 2029. UNIQLO and Tate have further expanded their partnership together in celebration of Tate Modern's 25th anniversary through the Birthday Weekender and Uniqlo Tate Shop, Art For All.
