Global apparel retailer UNIQLO today launched a public exhibition in Paris to celebrate its 40-year anniversary. Entitled, The Art and Science of LifeWear: What Makes Life Better?, the limited-time exhibition will run from Tuesday, October 1st, staying open to the public until Saturday October 5th at Pavillon Vendôme, in the cultural heart of the French capital.

In Paris for the launch, UNIQLO Founder, and Chairman, President & CEO of Fast Retailing, Tadashi Yanai said, "In celebration of UNIQLO's 40th anniversary, I am extremely honored and delighted to host this special event in Paris - the world's fashion capital. UNIQLO LifeWear is made possible through our unique partnership with Toray, one of the world's leading manufacturers of advanced materials. We look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world to Paris to experience the innovation, quality and value that have been the foundation of UNIQLO for 40 years, demonstrated through a series of immersive installations.

Present at the launch, Mitsuo Ohya, President, Toray Industries, said, "We began working with UNIQLO in 1999. Our long relationship over 25 years is built on a shared commitment to combine UNIQLO's great strengths with Toray's technology and manufacturing expertise to create LifeWear items. This includes iconic innovations like HEATTECH, loved by UNIQLO customers everywhere."

UNIQLO and Toray also today announced they will donate one million HEATTECH items and more around the world from this winter, as part of UNIQLO's commitment to making life better through its business and through LifeWear. Donations will be made primarily in markets where UNIQLO operates, bringing relief to people who cannot stay warm enough: refugees, children, and disaster victims.

A key topic of The Art and Science of LifeWear: What Makes Life Better? is how UNIQLO has sought to make life better for people everywhere through its business and LifeWear. UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador Roger Federer and newly-appointed Creative Director, Clare Waight Keller joined a special panel discussion to share what makes their own lives better, and also how this specific question will inspire the design of LifeWear well into the future.

The discussion launched a new global marketing campaign by UNIQLO, in which people such as Roger Federer, Clare Waight Keller, Jonathan Anderson, Christophe Lemaire & Sarah Lin Tran appear in a series of short, authentic, insightful films to reveal what's important to each in life.

The Art and Science of LifeWear: What Makes Life Better? takes place from Tuesday October 1st through Saturday October 5th and is open to the general public with free admission.
