Fast Retailing Co. Ltd., the parent company of global apparel brands including UNIQLO and GU, has won three awards in the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards 2024, one of the leading awards events in the international PR industry.

Awards received by Fast Retailing were for in-house PR activities in the categories of Corporate Communications, International Campaign, and Community Engagement. The triple win recognizes the strong branding and corporate reputation activities undertaken by Fast Retailing at a global level, as well as its continuing contributions to the communities in which the business operates. This is the first time that Fast Retailing has been awarded at the IPRA Golden World Awards.

"We are honored to be recognized by IPRA for our global communications initiatives," said Koji Yanai, Senior Group Executive Officer, Fast Retailing. "The projects for which we won awards are not only good examples of our international PR activities, but importantly for us also represent concrete contributions to the communities in which we operate. We see LifeWear as a new industry of clothing, and it is important for us to continuously engage in initiatives through our business activities that will have a positive impact on society - in particular, through initiatives to help empower the next generation. I wish to express our sincere appreciation to IPRA for this significant recognition."

In the Corporate Communications category, Fast Retailing was awarded for its LifeWear = A New Industry initiative. As a business transformation plan to balance sustainability and business growth, corporate branding activities undertaken under the LifeWear = A New Industry banner have included media engagements in key markets, global promotion of clothing reuse and recycling initiative RE.UNIQLO STUDIO, as well as curated media tours of UNIQLO's innovative new stores and sustainability projects.

In the International Campaign category, Fast Retailing was the sole winner for the UNIQLO Next Generation Development Program, a unique campaign that unites the brand's suite of Global Brand Ambassadors and partner organizations under a common goal: to develop young people everywhere through sports, so they may grow into tomorrow's leaders. Events to date have included golfing workshops in Japan and the US with Adam Scott, tennis events with Roger Federer in the UK, Canada, and Shanghai, and wheelchair tennis events with athletes Shingo Kunieda and Gordon Reid.

In the Community Engagement category, Fast Retailing's Power of Clothing Project was awarded. The Power of Clothing Project is an annual campaign to collect second-hand children's clothing for donation to refugee children around the world. The project takes the form of educational events in 700+ schools across Japan and the region, inspiring and empowering around 82,000 students annually to launch community donation drives. In 2023 the project achieved record media coverage and over 720,000 items of clothing collected for refugee children.
