Global apparel retailer UNIQLO today announces that it will donate original T-shirts for the participants at this year's National Model United Nations (NMUN) Japan to be held November 20 - 26, 2022, in Kobe, sponsored by Kobe City University of Foreign Studies (KCUFS). The 331 university students from 11 countries taking part in the global conference will receive a specially designed T-shirt as part of the UNIQLO PEACE FOR ALL project.

In consideration of the various international problems occurring in the world today, this year's NMUN will feature a discussion among university students focused on the topic of peace. UNIQLO supports this initiative and has created an original T-shirt that takes words and phrases from the participating students expressing the conference theme of peace and incorporates them into a design of a folded paper crane, traditionally made in Japan to express a wish.

Commenting on the conference, Fast Retailing Group Senior Executive Officer Koji Yanai said: "The Model UN is an extremely important opportunity for students who are thinking seriously about the future of the world to meet and exchange ideas. I look forward to the day when we will work alongside these students to change the world for the better."

T-shirts are wonderful items that allow wearers to express their thoughts and ideas and share those views with others. UNIQLO launched PEACE FOR ALL in June 2022, calling on prominent individuals worldwide who support the project aim of praying sincerely for world peace and taking action to volunteer to submit a design expressing a desire for peace, which is then made into a T-shirt and sold to raise donations. The T-shirts offered for this event were created as part of the PEACE FOR ALL project. A presentation ceremony is scheduled for November 23rd (Wed.).

The Model United Nations is an educational program in which students act as the representative of a country other than their own and participate in conferences the same as those at the actual UN. The aim is to deepen understanding of world issues through discussion, while also enhancing the students' skills in negotiation, debate, and international communication in general, including language skills.

The National Model United Nations (NMUN) is one of the largest conferences among the Model UN programs held throughout the world. Conferences are hosted by universities around the world. This event was originally scheduled for 2020, but was delayed until 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be the second time for such a conference to be held in Kobe, six years since the previous event in 2016.

The 2022 conference will once again be held in partnership with Kobe City University of Foreign Studies (KCUFS). Focusing on the various international problems occurring in the world today, university students from 11 countries, mostly representing Generation Z, will hold discussions focused on the topic of peace.
