UNIQLO Launches RE.UNIQLO STUDIO in London Regent Street Store - Helping customers enjoy LifeWear longer by offering repair, remake, reuse, recycling, and care essentials

05 September 2022, London - Global apparel retailer UNIQLO will launch the RE.UNIQLO Studio, a dedicated space for pursuing a new future for clothes, in its Regent Street store on 8 September. Keeping UNIQLO items in circulation longer and maximizing the possibilities the clothes have to offer, RE.UNIQLO Studio aims to help customers enjoy LifeWear fully, freely and for longer.
RE.UNIQLO Studio Services
■ Repair
The Repair service has existed in the UNIQLO Regent Street store since the store opened in April 2022 and shall now be housed the RE.UNIQLO Studio, on the lower ground floor. Providing customers with a place to bring in their UNIQLO items that require some mending, trained staff take care of everything from hemming trousers and sewing buttons to mending holes and other damage. Prices start from £3.
■ Remake
UNIQLO has long offered free alterations on selected bottoms. The Remake service housed in the new RE.UNIQLO Studio will now provide customers with alterations and minor resizing to tailoring services on a wider range of items.
Alongside alterations and tailoring, UNIQLO offers an elevated service turning UNIQLO clothes into fresh new items with a host of repair and customization offerings including the Japanese Sashiko stitching technique. The very old tradition encourages customers to mend, embellish and upcycle clothes to give them a new lease of life and keep them for an even longer time. Essential accessories will also be available for customers to try to repeat these techniques at home, including Shozaburo scissors and Misuya Bari needles for Kyoto and Sashiko threads. Partnering with London based Studio Masachuka and pattern designer Zeena Shah, prices start from £10.
In addition to the bespoke service for customers who bring in their existing items, UNIQLO will showcase and sell an exclusive range of one of a kind UNIQLO garments already reimagined using these techniques. Prices start from £20.
Within the RE.UNIQLO Studio, UNIQLO will offer a variety of at home repair and care products, books offering advice and inspiration for customers on caring for and extending the life of their wardrobe.
■ Reuse
Clothes that are no longer worn are collected via the RE.UNIQLO Recycle bins on the lower ground floor and donated to in need communities. UNIQLO have donated 46.19 million items to 79 countries and regions worldwide (August 31, 2021).

■ Recycle
Product collected from the Recycle bins that is unsuitable for reuse contributes to the RE.UNIQLO circular program. These items are collected and used as raw materials or recycled into materials for new clothing or energy sources. -
By working with UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency), NPO and NGOs we ensure customers used items are donated through recycling activities, ensuring garments are meeting standards and local needs. UNIQLO recycles clothes into clothes starting with down and feathers, which encompasses UNIQLO's entire down items ranges sold worldwide, and recycling the down and feathers.
RE.UNIQLO
UNIQLO is committed to taking responsibility of the clothing it manufactures and sells throughout the lifecycles and has been collecting pre-worn UNIQLO items from customers to be reused or recycled over 20 years. RE.UNIQLO is an initiative that gives the pre-worn clothing new life and new value, providing customers with various solutions for them to appreciate and use clothing for a long time.
Championing Design: Old and New
Located close to Mayfair's historic tailoring district in a 19th Century Grade 2 Listed building, the UNIQLO Regent Street store covers three expansive floors of LifeWear alongside beautiful original features. A Grade 1 Listed dome space on the lower ground floor, which at one time existed as a fully operational Barber Shop in the 1920s, is now home to a dedicated space for the RE.UNIQLO Studio, whilst retaining the Barber Shop's original Art Deco features.
UNIQLO Regent Street opened on 22nd April 2022. The Old Barber shop space is now home to the RE.UNIQLO Studio whilst preserving the original Grade 1 Listed Art Deco features.
