UNIQLO today announces the extension of a sponsorship agreement commenced with the Japan Tennis Association in March 2021. UNIQLO will continue to supply match apparel and training wear to Japanese players at premier men's and women's international team events in 2022. This year's teamwear provision starts with Davis Cup first round qualifiers for the men's team in Sweden on March 4 and 5. The women's team will wear UNIQLO items in Billie Jean King Cup matches in the week of April 11 at a venue that has yet to be determined.

Kenichiro Yamanishi, President of the Japan Tennis Association, said, "It was with great pride that Japanese players represented their nation in UNIQLO apparel in 2021. We look to keep drawing on UNIQLO's support in 2022 in making our teams even stronger. We hope that our collaboration with UNIQLO in clothing development can contribute to healthier and happier lives for people everywhere."

Tadashi Yanai, Chairman, President and CEO of UNIQLO parent company, Fast Retailing, commented that, "We are delighted to extend our sponsorship agreement with the Japan Tennis Association. In December last year, UNIQLO hosted LifeWear Day 2021 with UNIQLO global brand ambassador and Japanese tennis ace Kei Nishikori. The association did much to ensure the success of this youth tennis and sustainability clinic by managing the program and providing coaches. We were very grateful for its assistance, and look forward to collaborating further in the years ahead to foster the healthy development of young people through sport."

Kei Nishikori, a UNIQLO global brand ambassador, said, "UNIQLO and Japan's men's and women's tennis teams are united in seeking to lead the world in their fields. I am heartened that UNIQLO will maintain its commitment to supplying apparel to Japan's tennis teams this year. I will keep doing my very best in UNIQLO's teamwear to inspire children to eventually represent their nation in a sport that I adore."
