UNIQLO Relaunches Global Flagship Store in London

311 Oxford Street store reopens on March 18th
with best possible customer experience and dedicated floor
that showcases LifeWear concept and London's cultural wealth

UNIQLO today announced the relaunch of its global flagship store located at 311 Oxford Street, London's most iconic shopping destination, on Friday, 18 March 2016. The completely transformed store will be the first in the world to introduce Liberty London for UNIQLO, a new collaboration designed with the London institution, and at the same time UNIQLO will launch its new Spring Summer collection with UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE.

The transformation of the 311 Store has seen the sales space expand from three floors to six, almost doubling the size of the original space and totalling an impressive 2,240 square metres. An exciting new conceptual sales area has been created within the store where UNIQLO's LifeWear concept will be brought to life, whilst a newly built roof terrace gives shoppers breath-taking views across London and will play host to exciting exclusive events in the upcoming months.

Commenting on the launch of the renovated store, Takao Kuwahara, UNIQLO Europe CEO, said, "London was UNIQLO's first market outside of Japan when we opened in 2001. Our London Global Flagship Store followed in November 2007, offering the largest UNIQLO sales floor space in the world at the time. The redevelopment, almost 10 years later, demonstrates UNIQLO's longstanding commitment to London and our desire to continue to improve our offering for both a local and a global customer audience." He added, "We look forward to opening our doors once again on Friday, 18 March, and we hope to welcome many customers on the day."

UNIQLO is also introducing an entirely new concept area, The Uniqlo WearHouse London, which gives a nod to the heritage of the brand's original name, The Unique Clothing Warehouse, whilst celebrating LifeWear. UNIQLO WearHouse London is a new space that can be accessed either from within the store or from its own private entrance and lift from Oxford Street.

With an entirely different design and bespoke way of displaying clothes, UNIQLO WearHouse London has been created as a cultural hub, which will host unique events throughout the year to celebrate London and the diverse range of people who live there. 311 Oxford Street is the first UNIQLO store in the world to showcase this new concept and demonstrate LifeWear to Londoners. The design of UNIQLO WearHouse London will provide the perfect contrast to the rest of the store which includes UNIQLO's staple technology touches such as LED tickers and rotating mannequins.

To further enhance the customer shopping experience at the 311 Store, UNIQLO will launch a dedicated online shopping assistant. www.Uniqlo.com/311 will act as a store guide, allowing customers to check stock levels at other UNIQLO London stores, with the option to order online should they not be able to find what they are looking for. Customers can now register their interest in the store on the website and be in with the chance to win a years' worth of shopping.

The store re-launch will be supported by a campaign featuring a cast of London talent who are contributing to the city through their respective fields.
The hoarding which is currently on display has been designed by Jean Jullien, French graphic designer who lives in London and the artist behind the 'Peace for Paris' symbol.
