FAST RETAILING to start new commercial facilities development & management operation in Machida, Tokyo spring 2008
FAST RETAILING CO., LTD. has decided its fourth commercial facility development and management operation project. We expect to begin operating in spring 2008 by renting and leasing out TOKYU CORPORATION’s entire Machida Terminal Plaza near JR Machida station.
■ FAST RETAILING’S commercial facilities operation
FAST RETAILING began its commercial facilities operation in October 2005. It is a new business whereby we rent entire buildings and then attract and help suitable commercial tenants. This latest project in Machida, Tokyo will be our fourth (see the table below for details of our first three commercial premises operations). In pursuit of its aim to become a company boasting 1 trillion yen sales and 150 billion yen ordinary income in 2010, FAST RETAILING is aggressively participating in new related businesses. We shall be focusing on commercial facility operation as one key means towards achieving this goal.
■ New commercial premises for Machida next spring
This fourth project will enable FAST RETAILING to transform the entire building into specialty retail stores having leased the entire building from owner TOKYU CORPORATION. FAST RETAILING has accepted and helped realize the “Refining Retail Plan” that TOKYU CORPORATION is promoting to beautify and improve daily living in the Yamanote and Denentoshi areas. We plan to entice tenants into the terminal section who can make daily living more pleasurable and full. Naturally, we also intend to open a large-format UNIQLO store. We are aiming to create a landmark to symbolize an area catering to the varied needs from families to elderly customers.
