UNIQLO today announces its sponsorship of the 23rd World Scout Jamboree, to be held at Ajisu Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi, Japan, from July 28-August 8, 2015, and its related donation of 35,000 of its Dry Pique Polo Shirts for the event. The polo shirts feature a special design incorporating the logo for this year's jamboree, "Wa: A Spirit of Unity," and are provided as event wear for all of the 34,000 scouts and leaders participating from 150 countries and territories around the world. They will all wear the shirts on July 30, the day the programs begin.

The World Scout Jamboree is the world's largest scouting event, held once every four years, and for 2015 is hosted in Japan for the second time in 44 years. For it, boys and girls aged 14 to 17 gather from around the world to camp for about two weeks, participating in various programs to foster friendship and gain a deeper understanding of such issues as the environment, peace, and human rights.

UNIQLO's parent company Fast Retailing Group considers support for young people a key part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and sponsors programs that provide educational opportunities and enhance life skills, worldwide.

Tadashi Yanai, Fast Retailing Chairman, President and CEO, commented, "I am extremely pleased that this event, the second jamboree in Japan after 44 years, will be held in the prefecture which both myself and Fast Retailing originate from. It also gives me great pleasure to be able to provide the event wear. I hope that the jamboree fosters friendship and teamwork among the world's young people, and acts as an opportunity to generate leaders for tomorrow."
