Save Japan! UT T-shirts Featuring Celebrity Messages to Yield Nearly 100 Million Yen Relief Contribution

UNIQLO will market a line of Save Japan! UT T-shirts with words of encouragement from major global celebrities. Proceeds from the line totaling approximately 100 million yen will be donated to help individuals affected by the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake. This is the latest initiative from UNIQLO, which jumped into action immediately following the March 11 earthquake, launching a number of initiatives to help those affected by the disaster.

The Save Japan UT! project was made possible with help from the Condé Nast Group, the publisher of Vogue Japan and GQ Japan. UNIQLO has undertaken the project with Condé Nast, a cosponsor of the disaster relief information website Save Japan!, which was launched soon after the earthquake to supply information on area-specific relief efforts. Condé Nast has gathered the 10 celebrity messages to be carried on these limited edition T-shirts. Projected profits of approximately 100 million yen from the initiative will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society to help those affected by the earthquake.

Save Japan! UT shirts will hit UNIQLO stores worldwide on June 25. The 10 variations will come in sizes ranging from extra small to extra large and be priced 1,500 yen, including tax.

Nicole Kidman (Actress) Nicole Kidman received the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the 2001 film Moulin Rouge, as well as another Oscar and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her work in the 2003 film The Hours. She has served as Australia's UNICEF goodwill ambassador since 1994.		Support Japan. Give a hand to Japan.

Cyndi Lauper (Singer-songwriter) Cyndi Lauper is one of the biggest pop icons of the 1980s, with a Grammy and an Emmy Award to her name. She is known for her interest in Japan and she participated in charitable activities in the wake of the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995. She also toured Japan immediately after the March 11 earthquake and held concerts to encourage the victims of the disaster, as well as a donation drive.		It's one planet. We are all interconnected.
