Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. expresses its deepest condolences following the tragic loss of lives in the recent earthquake in Myanmar, and extends its heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the disaster.
As emergency humanitarian assistance to victims in disaster-stricken areas of Myanmar, Fast Retailing will donate US$1 million (approximately 142 million yen) to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an independent, non-profit medical and humanitarian aid organization currently engaged in emergency support in the country.
MSF is a private non-profit organization that operates based on the principles of independence, neutrality, and impartiality, delivering medical care to people at risk of losing their lives worldwide through highly independent organizational management. In Myanmar, they have been providing assistance to earthquake victims since shortly after the disaster occurred. MSF will use the donation from Fast Retailing for activities such as providing medical supplies, consultations in temporary shelters, mental health care for victims, and water and sanitation management, based on the needs of evacuees.
Fast Retailing hopes for a quick recovery in the disaster areas and a return to normalcy for all those affected in Myanmar. Going forward, Fast Retailing will continue to provide support for people in need following natural disasters and crises around the world.
