UNIQLO and GU join hands in Taiwan to donate NT$7 million to assist with disaster relief and reconstruction after the Hualien earthquake

The devastating earthquake that struck Hualien in eastern Taiwan on April 3 caused severe damage and affected many people. UNIQLO and GU, both brands under Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., offer their deepest condolences to the victims who lost their lives in this disaster, and their sincere sympathy to those who suffered.

UNIQLO and GU announced in Taiwan that they will donate NT$ 7 million* to the Taiwan Foundation for Disaster Relief to support the reconstruction and relief efforts in the impacted areas. The companies hope that their donation will help the affected people rebuild their homes and resume their normal lives as soon as possible. At the same time, they want to express their appreciation to the first responders, including police, firefighters, and medical personnel who are involved in rescue work. In the future, both brands will continue to use the power of clothing to move forward with Taiwan and overcome challenges together.

*Among the total of NT$7 million, NT$5 million will be donated from UNIQLO operation in Taiwan, and NT$2 million donated from GU.
