Global apparel retailer UNIQLO today announces the reopening of the UNIQLO Paris Opera store on Friday, September 15, following an eight-month renovation. Located in the Opéra arrondissement, a district emblematic of the city's culture and history, the Paris Opera store has further evolved as a global flagship that embodies LifeWear, reflecting the ever-evolving city and its people. Additionally, to mark the reopening, UNIQLO has entered into its first-ever partnership with the Paris Opera, which has its historic Palais Garnier opera house adjacent to the store.

The remodeled UNIQLO Paris Opera store retains the exterior façade of the historic building constructed in 1866, while the sales floor area has been expanded from 2,000 to 2,265m2. In the center of the ground floor, a grand staircase reminiscent of the entrance to a theater has been installed, allowing visitors to see across the interior of the store's three floors.

Taku Morikawa, CEO of UNIQLO Europe, said: "Since its opening in 2009, UNIQLO Paris Opera has served as a showcase for the UNIQLO brand in Europe, welcoming not only local Parisians but also many visitors from around the world. We hope that this renovation and our partnership with the Paris Opera will serve as a point of exchange between the cultures and lifestyles of Paris and Japan, and will help bring UNIQLO LifeWear from this extraordinary city to the world."

Partnership with the Paris Opera
Through its partnership with the Paris Opera, from September 2023 UNIQLO will be the official partner for "My First Time at the Opera," a program that offers families who have never been to the opera or ballet the opportunity to attend a performance at the special rate of 25 euros for adults and 10 euros for children. In addition, the promotional campaign to celebrate the reopening of the UNIQLO Paris Opera store features seven ballet dancers from the Paris Opera, with the tagline "Au rythme de Paris (At the rhythm of Paris)". This campaign highlights the bustle and artistic dynamism of Paris - expressing how UNIQLO LifeWear supports the hectic everyday lives of Parisians, who do not compromise on enjoying life in this city that boasts some of the world's finest fashion, cuisine, and art.

  • Repair and remake with RE.UNIQLO STUDIO, plus exclusive items
The expanded sales floor of UNIQLO Paris Opera will feature RE.UNIQLO STUDIO, offering Parisian customers - who have an in-depth knowledge of all things clothing - repair and remake services that will allow them to enjoy their LifeWear for even longer. Offered exclusively at the Paris Opera store will be an embroidery service featuring a variety of French and Japanese-related motifs that have been created by artists from both countries. Additionally, and in keeping with the RE.UNIQLO concept, a limited-edition fleece jacket, upcycled by the young Parisian industrial designer Tom Ducarouge, will be sold exclusively at the Paris Opera store.

  • UT and UTme!
The ground and basement floors of the Paris Opera store include a space dedicated to the UNIQLO graphic T-shirt brand "UT". This lineup will focus primarily on T-shirts featuring motifs from Japan's traditional and pop culture that are popular in Paris, such as ukiyo-e prints, Japanese sake, and manga. In addition, the UTme! service, which allows customers to create their own T-shirts and tote bags with original designs, has been introduced as part of the store renewal. Exclusive to the Paris Opera store, the range of design options will include motifs from Tom Ducarouge and other local artists, collaborations with popular local stores, and souvenirs of Paris.

Special offers on cashmere sweaters, and other product highlights
When the UNIQLO Paris Opera store first opened in 2009, its cashmere sweaters created a buzz, and have since become an item much loved by Parisian customers of all generations. To commemorate the store's reopening, cashmere sweaters in 50 colors will be available at limited prices (between 109.90 - 129.90 euros for men's, and 89.90 - 99.90 euros for women's). Coinciding with the reopening of the Paris Opera store, UNIQLO : C, the newest women's collection by designer Clare Waight Keller, will be released globally. In addition, the Uniqlo U 2023 Fall/Winter collection will also be sold at the Paris Opera from September 15, ahead of its global launch.
