UNIQLO, Roger Federer, and KAWS Come Together to Launch Around the World with Roger Federer - Global Event Series Celebrating Tennis, Art, and Culture to Kick Off August 2 at MoMA PS1

Global apparel retailer UNIQLO announces today it will launch Around the World with Roger Federer at the iconic MoMA PS1 in Queens, New York, benefitting the kids of Kings County Tennis League. By many measures, Federer is the greatest ever to play the game, but his greatest accomplishments lie ahead. It starts with this epic event-a unique community celebration of tennis, art, and culture, featuring a fun block-party atmosphere, plus music, art, and positivity for all. The event is part of UNIQLO's ongoing Next Generation Development Program.

As at all UNIQLO Next Generation Development Program events, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring juniors to meet and learn from a world-class athlete. Participants will join from Kings County Tennis League, which combines tennis and education to help kids in New York's public housing fulfill their potential. A full-size tennis court will take over the MoMA PS1 courtyard, with surface artwork contributed by acclaimed artist KAWS to support the Around the World with Roger Federer mission. Roger will host a coaching and mentoring session to develop kids' on-court abilities and discuss the attributes of being a professional athlete and community leader.

Another highlight of the day will be a collaborative, live art installation. A local New York artist will create a large mural, with real-time creative contributions from participants and guests. When completed, the signed artwork will be presented to Kings County Tennis League as a permanent gift to help them continue their work to attract and support youth from underserved NYC communities through tennis.

Following its August launch in New York, Around the World with Roger Federer will soon visit other exciting cities worldwide, with the next installment scheduled for later this year on a different continent. Just like the New York launch, the purpose of future events in the series will be to nurture young people's development and to celebrate tennis, art, and culture, while also making a lasting contribution to communities in the host city. More details will be announced when available.
