The Netherlands-Global apparel retailer UNIQLO and International Tennis Federation (ITF) hosted a Wheelchair Tennis Next Gen Development initiative on the weekend on November 5th and 6th, inviting talented participant juniors to the Wheelchair Tennis Masters. At the event, junior players interacted with world-class players. Through special lessons, they learned not only the practical skills of wheelchair tennis, but also the importance of having a dream and working hard at it.

The event was part of UNIQLO's broader Next Gen Program; its ongoing work with the full panel of UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassadors to generate social progress through youth development initiatives.

The Wheelchair Tennis Next Gen Development event was held on November 5th and 6th at Sportcentrum de Rusheuvel, Oss, The Netherlands, hosted in conjunction with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and sponsored by UNIQLO. Four Dutch players and four British players, who earlier this year participated in the Wheelchair Tennis Next Gen Development Event in London, aged 12 through 18took part.

Speaking at the Next Gen Program, UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador Shingo Kunieda said, "I have personally experienced growth both as a person and as an athlete by going abroad and getting involved with various players and people involved. I hope that this program provided an opportunity for the children to learn not only tennis skills, but also the human qualities that are important for an athlete."

The Wheelchair Tennis Next Gen Development initiative is a natural progression of UNIQLO's ongoing commitment to the sport. It provides an opportunity to continue fostering the development of wheelchair tennis and to continue to help build a more inclusive society, with the continuous support of UNIQLO's Global Brand Ambassadors, like Shingo Kunieda, to help young people to grow and fulfill their dreams.

The UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Next Gen Development event in Oss, the Netherlands, was made possible with additional support from the Fast Retailing Foundation.
