UNIQLO Congratulates Global Brand Ambassadors Shingo Kunieda and Gordon Reid on Victories at Roland Garros

UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador and world number two* wheelchair tennis player Shingo Kunieda claimed a historic eighth men's singles title at the French Open on Saturday. This latest title follows his triumph at the 2022 Australian Open in January in Melbourne. UNIQLO also congratulates Global Brand Ambassador Gordon Reid, who won the wheelchair tennis men's doubles title and claims three consecutive doubles wins at Roland Garros.
Kunieda said, "I am truly happy to win the French Open for the eighth time in four years since 2018. I have been away from winning on clay courts for the past few years, so to win for the first time in a while gives me a lot of confidence for the rest of the season. I thank everyone who has always supported me, and UNIQLO for providing me with clothes that bring out my best performance every time and for their support on and off the court." The victory brings a career total of 31 men's singles titles for Kunieda, including 27 Grand Slam singles titles and titles won in the pre-Grand Slam era.
"I am very happy to have won the French Open Doubles for the third year in a row, together with my partner Alfie Hewett, and I thank my fans and all other people who have supported me," said Gordon Reid. "I will continue to work hard to make further improvements whilst inspiring the next generation." The win marks Reid's third consecutive French Open doubles title and 19th Grand Slam title in men's wheelchair doubles.
