UNIQLO will open its first Thailand location, the UNIQLO Central World Store, in Bangkok this September. The store, located in Central World, will be UNIQLO's largest in Southeast Asia, with retail space of approximately 2,700 square meters. Following on the heels of UNIQLO's recent store launches in Singapore and Malaysia, this move will prove a platform for Japan's largest apparel label to boost brand recognition in Thailand and further help UNIQLO cement its presence in Southeast Asia.
■ UNIQLO's first store in Thailand to be in one of the largest shopping centers
UNIQLO's first Thailand store will be located in Central World, Bangkok's best-known and one of the largest shopping centers in Southeast Asia. This shopping facility, situated in the city's central Siam district, is home to leading domestic and international fashion apparel brands, and is a popular destination for both locals and foreign tourists alike.
The new UNIQLO Central World Store will be UNIQLO's largest in Southeast Asia, with retail space of approximately 2,700 square meters. The store's sprawling and pristine sales floor will also boast approximately 500 items from male, female and kids collections displayed in incredible volume befitting a large-scale store of this size. This store is designed to communicate to customers in Thailand the allure of UNIQLO.
Following its initial foray in the U.K. in 2001, UNIQLO has since expanded its overseas presence into other markets, including China, Hong Kong, South Korea, the U.S., France, Russia, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. As of the end of April 2011, UNIQLO had 1004 stores worldwide, with 161 of them outside of Japan, in line with the brand's efforts to accelerate its global expansion efforts. In Southeast Asia, UNIQLO recently opened two new stores in Singapore and its second in Malaysia. The September launch of the Central World store in Thailand marks UNIQLO's next step in its bid to boost its global brand recognition and expand its network of stores.
