UNIQLO held an in-store event to showcase products for medical and care workers at UNIQLO OSAKA, its global flagship store in Kita Ward, Osaka City.

The event, held for the first time, was organized at the request of medical, home nursing, and care workers in Osaka Prefecture. UNIQLO Front-Open Innerwear - which is easy to put on or take off of people requiring care, such as the elderly or people with disabilities – was on display at the store as part of the event.

About Unconsious Bias

Around 100 medical and care workers came to the store to take a look at the Front-Open Innerwear and hear from care workers who already use these products for their jobs. Participants commented on the products saying, "I didn't know UNIQLO made front-open innerwear, I think they're excellent for elderly people" and "They're very well-priced and so convenient for the wearer." Attendees also requested that UNIQLO "develop more products that are easy for people with disabilities to put on and take off."

About Unconsious Bias

Dr. Emiko Kono of Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University, who was one of the people who instigated the event, said "I believe that the power of clothing has unlimited potential. I asked UNIQLO for their help with this event out of the desire to change care work through the power of medicine and clothing, so that people can enjoy their lives even as they age, and to bring smiles to both people receiving care and their families as well as to people involved in giving care. We will continue to provide support so that the elderly and people with disabilities can live full lives every day."
