Global EC Platform Development Position Mid-career Recruitment Briefing Session *English
Both presentations and breakout sessions will be conducted in English. *
Fast Retailing Group aims to leverage digital technology to enable customers to buy the clothes they really want, when they want them and as soon as they want them.
To achieve this goal, it is essential to have an in-house development team that can lead business transformation across countries, regions, and brands in close collaboration with the business divisions.
For the EC platform shared by UNIQLO, GU, and other brands, we are promoting the development of various core microservices and localization for each country and region while applying consistent standards across the entire group.

The person in charge of each area will introduce the company and the position, mentioning Fast Retailing's unique approach to e-commerce platform development and working environment, which is unique to a global apparel company.
We look forward to hearing from you!

■Supplement 1:
In the backend area, we are working on the design, development, and global deployment of a group of EC platforms built on a microservices architecture. The following areas are possible upon consideration of your experience and intentions.
Inventory
We have multiple store and automated warehouse inventories across the country and around the world, and our inventory logic has become very complex. Organizing and optimizing our business logic to ensure inventory accuracy and increasing inventory visibility will enable us to supply products quickly. We are working to optimize our inventory management system to ensure efficient inventory operations.
∙ Membership
We are promoting a project to revamp our legacy platform. The new platform is designed to incorporate the latest technology to improve user experience, enhance security, and help expand business. Through this project, the membership management system will evolve to be more efficient and user-friendly, contributing to greater customer satisfaction. To ensure a trouble-free replacement, we are working closely with stakeholders to develop and execute a phased migration plan, conduct thorough testing and validation, and monitor post-transition activities.
Basket
Basket is responsible for the EC shopping cart function, which includes the handling of complex business logic such as bulk purchases, discounts, coupons, and payments, and must maintain performance even under high traffic. To achieve this, an optimized database design, efficient caching strategy, and scalable architecture are essential. Intuitiveness and ease of use of the user interface are also important factors, and must allow customers to complete the purchase process smoothly. We are working to develop and improve shopping cart functionality based on these factors.
Order Management
To ensure high reliability, the Order Management system undergoes rigorous verification and testing to handle complex business logic, maintain a high level of security, and integrate with various internal systems. A solid technical foundation and robust system design are essential to ensure the accuracy of transaction processing and its role as a core business function. The system is designed to meet global business requirements by leveraging proven, stable technology rather than the latest technology to improve scalability and performance. In this way, we are committed to providing a reliable foundation for customer satisfaction and business growth.
Search
The product search function is designed to contribute to business through close communication with the business side, while considering continuous improvements and the adoption of AI technology. To help customers find the products they are looking for quickly and accurately, we are working to improve the user experience by optimizing search algorithms, suggesting relevant keywords, and enhancing trending words. We are also working to develop features that incorporate the latest technologies, such as the use of machine learning (ML) for product tagging.
Notification
We are responsible for application notifications and email notifications. By building an efficient delivery system and optimizing the sending process, we can provide users with prompt and accurate information. We also aim to increase marketing effectiveness by improving targeting accuracy and providing personalized content. Through these efforts, the notification function is working to enhance its contribution to business, improve customer satisfaction, and increase sales.
■Supplement 2: Major technologies and tools used by the EC platform development team
AWS, GCP, and any other cloud services
Docker / ECS / Kubernetes / Terraform
Go / Java / Node
Swift / Kotlin / Flutter / React / TypeScript
PostgreSQL / Redis
Kafka / Elasticsearch / fluentd
Jenkins
