Department Overview:

The Engineering division of the Store Development Department is responsible for construction management and facility management for stores such as UNIQLO, GU, and Theory, as well as for retail complexes operated by Fast Retailing. In addition to daily store repairs and preventive maintenance, the division feeds insights gained from repair work back into design and construction standards, driving improvements in store design and repair quality while promoting standardization.Our activities span three areas: the global construction and facilities teams, our in-house commercial facility operations teams, and the store operations teams for our Japanese business. We support business growth and enhance brand value by collaborating across these teams.

Job Description：

You will be responsible for construction management and facility management within the Fast Retailing Group. Leveraging your expertise in architecture and building systems, you will contribute to sales growth by providing customers with a safe, secure, and comfortable shopping experience through the creation of safe, secure, and comfortable stores and commercial facilities, the optimization of lifecycle costs, and the standardization of operations.
Upon joining, you will be assigned to one of the following areas based on your experience and expertise; however, in the future, we expect you to gain end-to-end experience and involvement—from construction through maintenance—and to thrive as an in-house engineering professional.

• Promoting Global Construction and Facility Management

You will lead the process—from strategy development to execution—for construction, repairs, and maintenance of retail stores and facilities both domestically and internationally.

• Project Management for Large-Scale Construction Projects

You will manage a wide range of projects, from the construction of new stores and the renovation of existing ones to the development of our own commercial facilities.

• Asset Management for Globally Operated Stores and Facilities

For existing stores and commercial facilities, we plan and implement long-term repair plans, preventive maintenance, and equipment upgrades.

• Optimization of Quality, Cost, and Delivery Times, and Promotion of Standardization

By leveraging construction and maintenance data, we promote the standardization of global quality standards and operational processes to achieve continuous quality improvement and cost optimization.

• Creating Value Through Collaboration with Global Partners

We collaborate with architectural firms, construction companies, facility management partners, and others to build globally replicable operational frameworks and promote the standardization of business processes.

Career Path

• Based on your experience, expertise, and career aspirations, you will begin your career in one of the following areas: the Global Facility Management Team, the Retail Property Team, or the facility management division within our Japan operations.
• As an in-house engineering professional, you will hone your expertise in construction management and facility management while taking on the challenge of leading large-scale projects both domestically and internationally, as well as managing our global organization.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas

• Practical experience in construction project management at the construction management departments of various operating companies, engineering firms, general contractors, etc.
• Practical experience in facility management that leverages comprehensive technical knowledge of architecture and building systems

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• Work experience in foreign countries or regions, or experience collaborating with local companies
• Experience in the maintenance and management of facilities and equipment across multiple locations, as well as in the execution of new construction and renovation projects
• Certifications such as Architect, Construction Management Engineer (Architecture), Plumbing Construction Management Engineer, or Electrical Construction Management Engineer
• Team management experience
• TOEIC score of 700 or higher (required for meetings and email communication with overseas offices)

Annual Salary

• Annual Salary Range: 8–14 million yen (Monthly Salary: 450,000–780,000 yen)
• Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
• Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
