The mission of the hiring department, the “Digital Business Transformation Services Department,” is to create results by defining, building, and ensuring the full utilization of business systems—all with a customer-centric, forward-looking perspective—without barriers between business and IT, headquarters and the field, or the physical and virtual worlds.A key feature of our department is that we handle the entire end-to-end process of business and system transformation. Job Description

As a Generative AI and Machine Learning Engineer, you will lead the development of generative AI and machine learning systems in collaboration with business departments for systems in areas such as e-commerce, supply chain, product planning, business automation, and customer service centers.

• Design and implementation of proof-of-concept (PoC) projects based on business division challenges
• Lead development projects in collaboration with business units
• Design, development, and operation of systems utilizing large-scale data, generative AI, and machine learning
• Selection and design of technologies related to generative AI and machine learning

*There may also be opportunities for overseas business trips to countries where we operate or to visit development partners.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience collaborating with stakeholders who utilize machine learning to lead the resolution of challenges
• A strong interest in and practical experience with using machine learning to improve operational efficiency
• At least 5 years of programming experience (Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, etc.)
• At least 3 years of experience in system operations
• Someone who approaches problems with sincerity, maintains a positive attitude, possesses a strong sense of responsibility, and thinks flexibly
• Logical thinking. The ability to understand intentions and context beyond language barriers and guide others toward problem-solving
• Experience in organizational or project management, or in mentoring subordinates or junior colleagues
• Someone who is willing to actively engage in a work environment where English is used on a daily basis

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience in the development and operation of APIs, batch processes, and similar systems in a B2C context
• Experience building and operating business systems in the fashion and apparel industry or e-commerce
• Experience using major cloud providers such as AWS and GCP
• Experience leading engineering teams in multinational environments
• Experience building commonly used and general-purpose frameworks and libraries
• Experience building and operating large-scale web services
• Experience building and operating supply chain systems, including production and logistics
• Experience developing and operating systems in collaboration with external partners and system integrators
• Knowledge of automation technologies such as continuous integration and continuous deployment
• Experience with and understanding of testing methodologies and quality assurance
• Experience with Agile development
• Experience developing distributed systems, highly parallel systems, and high-availability systems

Annual Salary

• Annual Salary Range: 12 million to 19 million yen (Monthly Salary: 620,000 to 940,000 yen)
• Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
• Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
• Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
