Job Description

■ Background of the Opening:
Guided by the mission “We Deliver LifeWear,” the Store Development Department drives business growth by expanding the store network for all Fast Retailing Group brands globally. To build a network of stores that embody LifeWear, integrate with local communities, and have a positive social impact, we are promoting strategic store openings worldwide, with a focus on flagship stores.We are seeking individuals who can adapt to this rapidly changing era, go beyond mere real estate development, create locations from a market-driven perspective, and drive the business growth of Fast Retailing.

■ Department Overview:
Our Group’s store opening strategy is synonymous with our business growth strategy.The customer shopping experience is greatly influenced by where we locate our stores—which serve as touchpoints with customers—and the concepts we apply to them. The Store Development Department works across all Fast Retailing Group brands—including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST—to create “destination stores” worldwide that draw people to a specific area. By serving as local infrastructure and driving store development that contributes to local communities and urban planning, we strive to improve local societies.We lead all aspects of store development—from flagship stores that offer customers unique, meaningful experiences they’ll want to visit at least once, to roadside stores conveniently located in their neighborhoods—through two distinct roles: Global Store Development and Domestic Store Development in Japan.

・Global Store Development Team
We drive the expansion of our store network in collaboration with business leaders and local store development teams in countries around the world. Aiming to create stores that function as part of the local social infrastructure, you will lead the process from planning to implementation of store development strategies that contribute to urban development in countries worldwide.

・ Domestic Store Development Team
In Japan—our largest market—we aim to create stores that foster vibrant communities and neighborhoods, serving as essential local infrastructure.

■ Job Description
You will lead the opening of new stores for Fast Retailing Group brands.
Details of the roles for the global and Japan divisions are as follows.

Global Store Development:
・Develop country-specific store network strategies aligned with the mid-term business plan for store expansion, and lead optimal store rollouts based on brand characteristics
・ Collaborate with store development departments in each country and region by communicating GHQ policies, managing progress, and providing support for issue resolution to ensure global store openings align with company policy
・ Prioritize potential global store locations, review and provide guidance on contract terms, and drive the conclusion of contracts that incorporate risk mitigation measures
・Contribute to improving the accuracy of sales forecasts and store strategies through P&L analysis of existing stores and post-opening performance reviews
・ Strengthen local team capabilities through the recruitment and development of personnel for store development teams in each country and region

Domestic Store Development:
・Develop store expansion strategies and store location plans for the assigned area, centered on flagship and large-scale stores
・Conduct a full range of store development operations—including new store openings and “scrap-and-build” projects—based on the above strategy
・Go beyond mere store development to promote store openings that contribute to local communities and play a role in urban development
・Building relationships with developers and landowners, negotiating terms, finalizing contracts, and managing the project from start to opening
・Conducting market-driven planning and presentations that take regional characteristics and customer needs into account

・While deepening your expertise in store development, we expect you to eventually lead a team as a manager. Additionally, you may advance to positions that span domestic and international operations, allowing you to play an active role closer to senior management. Qualifications

■ Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates with experience in any of the following areas
・Experience in formulating strategies and plans from a market-in perspective, taking into account regional characteristics and customer needs (experience in store openings or site development is a plus)
・Experience driving projects by engaging internal and external stakeholders, forming teams, and leading them
・Experience in business development or sales channel expansion overseas

■Desirable Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・The ability to conceptualize the structure of business locations and channels from a business growth perspective, and the planning and conceptualization skills to contribute to business expansion
・Experience leading and achieving results in business initiatives involving transformation, such as business turnarounds, large-scale organizational transformations, strategic shifts, or business development at overseas affiliates
・Experience in organizational or project management, or in mentoring subordinates and junior staff
・TOEIC score of 700

Work Conditions

Full-time Employee (Permanent position, with a 3-month probationary period)

■Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 7.0–24.39 million yen (Monthly Salary: 440,000–1.35 million yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.

Flexible work hours or managerial/supervisory position
・Flexible work schedule
Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Flexible hours…6:00–9:00 and 14:00–20:00; overtime work may occur

・Supervisors
Based on the working hours of the employee’s department; left to the employee’s discretion

■ Days Off and Leave
Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays; national holidays are considered workdays) Annual paid leave, special leave (including leave for weddings and bereavement), childcare and family care leave systems, etc.
*In addition to paid leave, special leave is granted in the first and second halves of the fiscal year (the number of days granted varies depending on employment status and the company to which the employee belongs)
