Job Description
■ Recruitment Background:
GU, one of the Fast Retailing Group's major brands, has a brand message of "YOUR FREEDOM. g.u., one of the Fast Retailing Group's major brands, aims to become a truly global brand by creating hit products that capture mass trends, offering attractive styling proposals that express the latest fashion, preventing shortages of hot-selling items, and delivering products and services that exceed customer expectations.
There are still many challenges to be overcome for GU to become a truly global brand. Through transformation in all aspects of the clothing business, including building a stronger management team by hiring and training diverse human resources, perfecting products and styling, creating sales floors that are easy for customers to shop at, improving the accuracy of quantity and sales planning, and creating a system for flexible additional production, we will be able to achieve a minimal number of product numbers and We are looking for a candidate for VMD manager who can promote GU's unique brand value of enjoying fashion to the fullest at a minimum number of items and at a reasonable price (Mini Max edit) on the world stage.
Department Overview
The IMD (In store merchandising) department is in charge of in-store merchandising. As a general producer of store development and operation, the IMD department aims to create stores, which are the direct points of contact with customers, into places where GU's brand message is expressed in every aspect and all customers who visit the stores can enjoy fashion.
The IMD Department consists of two teams: the Layout Team, which considers the optimal in-store layout of products, and the VMD Team, which conveys the appeal of the laid-out products through the styling of torsos. The VMD team does not achieve anything on its own, but works with members of various departments within the company, such as the layout team, MD, sales department and stores that manage the stores, to promote the creation of optimal sales areas.

GU offers the latest fashions, and you will be responsible for creating a sales floor where customers can enjoy fashion and shopping by expressing the concept and story behind each product in an appealing way to visually introduce the image and quality of the product to the customer. The job will involve the following specific duties.
Specifically, your duties will include the following
Monthly/weekly torso styling and sales floor presentation. (This includes new stores and flagship stores.) This will be done in accordance with the layout strategy and concept of the sales floor.
Creation of guidelines for torso styling to be deployed in all GU stores in Japan and overseas.
Styling of in-store promotional materials
・Training of sales and own team members to achieve ideal VMD in all GU stores in Japan and overseas.
