The R&D Department is a team of experts dedicated to bringing our “LifeWear” concept to life through products. We are seeking new team members to help further evolve the creation of clothing that embodies “LifeWear.”

Department Overview:

The R&D Department, to which you will be assigned, is a team of experts dedicated to turning the “LifeWear” concept into actual products. In-house designers and patternmakers are active across six global locations centered in Tokyo (Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles).Our mission is to plan products that align with people’s living environments, lifestyles, and the times, and to translate designs based on real-world needs into the “LifeWear” concept. We aim to continuously provide well-thought-out, simple clothing that improves and enriches the lives of people around the world. Through our clothing, we strive to continually drive innovation in society.

Job Description：

You will be responsible for designing knitwear items. Specifically, your duties will include the following:

• Creating MAPs (product lists)
• Creating design sketches
• Preparing specifications
• Selecting fabrics and materials
• Providing instructions to partner factories
• Quality control through collaboration between the Production Department and the factory

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• At least 5 years of experience independently designing knitwear, creating samples, and drafting specifications for women’s, men’s, and children’s products
• Ability to manage multiple items and oversee the entire process from product planning through design to mass production (with hands-on experience in the entire workflow, from designing to commissioning and placing orders with factories)
• Ability to understand domestic and international trends, lifestyles, and consumer needs in the context of global product development and translate them into designs

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• This role requires communication in English both internally and externally; you must be comfortable using English in emails and everyday conversations (e.g., specifications, instructions to factories, internal meetings, etc.)

Employment Type:

Contract Employee (Fixed-term, with a 3-month probationary period)
(Depending on your performance and evaluation during the first year of your contract as a contract employee, if you meet our criteria for conversion to a regular employee, we will consider hiring you as a regular employee starting in the second year.)

Annual Salary

• Annual Salary Range: 3.5–10 million yen (Monthly Salary: 240,000–570,000 yen)
• Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
• Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
• Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)

*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.

Working Hours

Standard working hours, flex-time system, or managerial/supervisory status (determined based on job duties, expected responsibilities, and assigned department; details will be provided during the job offer interview)

• Standard Working Hours System

8 hours of actual work and 1-hour break between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

• Flexible Work Hours System

Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Flexible hours: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Overtime may be required

• Supervisors

Based on the working hours of the employee’s department; left to the employee’s discretion

Holidays and Leave

Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays), annual paid leave, special and bereavement leave, child-rearing and family care leave systems, etc.
