PLST is a brand that develops LifeWear based on the concept of “everyday clothing for when you want to look your best,” combining beautiful styles that fit seamlessly into daily life with exceptional comfort.
At the core of the brand is the R&D department, where apparel designers and patternmakers collaborate on planning, design, and quality control to create the refined styles that define PLST. Through the development of essential wear—with meticulous attention to detail in material selection, silhouette design, and comfort—the department drives innovation to deliver PLST’s brand value to customers around the world.
In 2025, we welcomed Harunobu Murata as PLST’s Women’s Design Director. Mr. Murata is an accomplished designer who runs his own luxury fashion label, “HARUNOBUMURATA,” and brings experience from JIL SANDER.Under the theme of “The Democratization of Luxury,” we are collaborating to become the No. 1 mid-price brand in LifeWear through product development that prioritizes high-quality materials and refined silhouettes.
You will work with Mr. Murata to develop PLST’s signature best-selling items, and you’ll also have the opportunity to participate in projects that shape the brand’s future while exploring the essence of design.

Job Description：

You will be responsible for patternmaking for women’s apparel. Specifically, your duties will include the following:

• Creating sample patterns based on requests from designers
• Creating specifications
• Verifying the quality and refinement of samples
• Collaborating with manufacturing plants to improve quality during mass production, etc.

• Job Description may change within the scope of duties related to various headquarters departments due to departmental transfers or organizational changes.

Career Path

Upon joining the company, you will be assigned to a team responsible for a specific category (e.g., outerwear or bottoms). Subsequently, depending on your aptitude, you may be transferred to a different team.

Required Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

• At least 5 years of experience creating specifications and patterns for women’s apparel

　*Experience with any of the following items is welcome: woven fabrics (including heavy outerwear, bottoms, shirts, blouses, and outerwear), dresses, knitwear, and knitted garments.

• Work experience using Toray CAD (pattern making)
• Excellent communication skills in Japanese (equivalent to JLPT N1)

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Experience

• Work experience with CAD (grading), Excel, and Illustrator
• English proficiency: Ability to read and write documents and emails in English

*A practical skills test may be administered as part of the selection process.

Employment Type: Contract Employee

*Employment contracts may be renewed based on the company’s operational needs and the employee’s performance (no automatic renewal).
*There is no upper limit on contract renewals (in terms of total duration or number of renewals).

Annual Income

• Annual Salary Range: 4.25–8.00 million yen (Monthly Salary: 280,000–500,000 yen)
• Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
• Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
• Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)

*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.

Working Hours

Either the standard work hours system or the flex-time system

• Standard Work Hours System

8 hours of actual work and 1-hour break between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

• Flexible Work Hours System

Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Flexible hours: 6:00–9:00 and 14:00–20:00; overtime work may occur

Holidays and Leave

Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays; national holidays are considered workdays) Annual paid leave, special leave (including leave for weddings and bereavement), childcare and family care leave systems, etc.
*In addition to paid leave, special leave is granted in the first and second halves of the fiscal year (the number of days granted varies depending on employment status and the company to which you belong)
