Job Description

Recruitment Background

Since its launch in 2003, “UT” has continued to produce collaboration T-shirts. With its growing global presence in regions such as the U.S., the EU, and ASEAN, the importance of planning collaboration products has also increased. To ensure we continue delivering timeless value to customers around the world, we are seeking individuals who can drive the production of “UT” collaboration products (licensed products).

Department Overview

“UT,” UNIQLO’s T-shirt brand, began in 2003 as the “UNIQLO T-shirt Project.” Under the theme “T-shirts: More Freedom, More Fun,” it has widely promoted T-shirts to society as a tool for freely expressing individuality. In the fall of 2006, the opening of the UNIQLO SOHO NY store featured a flagship campaign titled the “Japanese Pop Culture Project.” This project garnered significant attention when leading Japanese artists used T-shirts as canvases to express “Contemporary Tokyo” through their own creative visions. This success accelerated our efforts to create the world’s best T-shirts. Since then, we have continued to collaborate with artists, characters, companies, and brands from around the world, delivering an overwhelming variety of graphic T-shirts to our customers every year.By realizing collaborations that amaze customers around the world—and by embodying UNIQLO’s “LifeWear” philosophy while centering on culture—we are driving UNIQLO toward becoming the world’s number one apparel brand in both name and reality.

Job Description

As a project manager at the global headquarters, you will drive each collaboration—from planning and negotiating various UT content (such as art, manga, fashion, and characters) to coordinating with business units and the overseas business division.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Conduct market research based on seasonal strategies and develop concrete collaboration plans
  • Negotiating contracts with licensors involved in collaborations
  • Drive the UT business in collaboration with relevant internal departments (MD, MK, R&D)
Taking your previous experience and skills into account, you will start by focusing primarily on either marketing-related tasks centered on UT or licensing-related tasks such as contract negotiations with licensors; in the future, there is a possibility that your responsibilities will expand to include both types of work.
