Job Description

The Product Planning Department is the engine that makes this philosophy and vision a reality. In collaboration with MDs who develop HEATTECH, AIRISM, and other products that dramatically change people's lives, the department develops and promotes globally optimized commercial plans in pursuit of providing value to our customers and society. We are looking for someone who can lead the product planning area by combining the desire to provide better clothes and services to customers around the world with a growth strategy from a business perspective.

Department Overview
The mission of the Merchandise Planning Department, to which you will be assigned, is to "enhance customer and field satisfaction, company profitability, and all at the same time in a healthy way.
The department is divided into the Japan business and the overseas business, and each person is responsible for formulating and implementing measures for the products for which he or she is responsible, from the formulation of product budgets to product sell-through, by analyzing past performance and future prospects from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives.

■Job Description
You will be responsible for all UNIQLO products (women's, men's, kids', merchandise, innerwear, etc.) and lead the creation and execution of the overall business plan, from formulating sales budgets and sales plans (by season and month) to production plans and demand forecasts (by week), all at once.

Specific duties include the following
1. Analyze the market environment and formulate strategies/tactics to achieve goals. Formulate KPIs on product management (product number, pricing) to manage the execution of strategies/tactics.
2, Merchandise budget development: monthly/seasonal/divisional/sales/gross profit/cost ratio/discount ratio portfolio development.
3、Product plan scrutiny: Improve the quality of the product plan by using a quantitative/logical approach to scrutinize the product plan developed by the merchandiser (MD) based on actual results.
4、Establishment of demand forecast/sales plan: Based on the product plan described in (3) above, the demand forecast for each product is established/verified, and revisions are proposed to the merchandiser. Based on the verified demand forecast, formulate measures to address the issues in cooperation with related departments (Corporate Planning/MD/Marketing/IMD/Inventory Control/Sales) and formulate a sales plan.
5、Share tactics with stores based on the sales plan, and based on actual results, manage progress and revise the plan to achieve business targets (sales, gross profit, gross profit margin, and inventory at the end of the period).
6、Run PDCA cycle from 1 to 5 above and accumulate knowledge.

Career path
When you join UNIQLO, you will be in charge of product planning for UNIQLO's Japanese business, which is the largest business in the world, and will be expected to catch up on the basics of UNIQLO's business. You will also be asked to manage a store for 6 months to a year at an appropriate time after joining the company, which will provide you with experience in store management as a prerequisite for the business. (Details will be provided at the interview.)
The successful candidate will be able to engage in a series of operations from upstream to downstream of UNIQLO's clothing business value chain. Because you will not only understand product management, but also actually execute it, you will not be limited to gaining more expertise in product planning, but also have the possibility of various careers within and outside of UNIQLO, including MD, marketing, IMD, overseas business, and even CXO of overseas business.

Qualifications

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities
A strong interest in the clothing business (what products to make, how many to make, how to sell and sell out, and how to make customers happy), and a willingness to take the initiative and drive the business forward.
Experience in analyzing things factually and quantitatively, identifying issues, and logically considering and implementing measures
Experience in the industry is not required.

■Annual Income
Annual salary range: 5,470,000-8,000,000 yen (monthly salary: 360,000-500,000 yen)
Commuting allowance, overtime allowance, etc. (*All in accordance with company regulations)
Bonuses: Semiannual bonus twice a year, year-end bonus (whether or not to be paid and the amount will be decided according to the company's performance and personnel evaluation)
Promotion: Twice a year (determined according to personnel evaluation)
