Job Description

■ Recruitment Background
In 2017, the Knit Innovation Center was established within UNIQLO's headquarters in Ariake, Tokyo, for the development of UNIQLO knitwear. in May 2025, in order to further accelerate the development of knitwear products, the Knit Innovation Center was relocated and expanded to the Fast Retailing Group's first in-house factory, the 3D (Shinonome, Tokyo), which is responsible for the production of knitwear.

The Knit Innovation Center was originally a 3D knit sample development facility that utilized WHOLEGARMENT® technology, but with the relocation to Shinonome, the company has now introduced not only 3D knitwear, but also regular knitting machines (5-gauge, 7-gauge, 12-gauge, and 14-gauge), as well as a full lineup of shrinking and finishing equipment. The company has built a full lineup of knitwear development systems, including 5-gauge, 7-gauge, 12-gauge, and 14-gauge knitting machines as well as 3D knitting machines, and has established product development and production systems that integrate development and production. We are looking for a patterner to work on knit products.

Job Description
You will be responsible for the patterner work of knit products. Specifically, the following duties are assumed.
Create patterns for samples based on requests from designers.
Create samples with programmers based on the created patterns
Creation of specifications
Checking the completeness and quality of samples
Collaborate with the production factory to improve quality during mass production, etc.

Job Descriptions are subject to change within the scope of work related to each department of the headquarters due to departmental transfers and organizational changes.

Starting as a knit patterner, you will not only enhance your expertise as a patterner, but also have the opportunity to take on the challenge of becoming a patterner for other items or to work in a managerial position managing the Knit Innovation Center.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
At least 5 years of experience in pattern making for woven, cut or knit fabrics.
Experience in managing the product planning, pattern making, and production process for multiple items
Strong interest in knitwear products (Note: Designer duties will not be handled.)

Desirable Knowledge/Abilities/Experience
CAD (Toray Clare Compo)
(Note: This is not a designer role.) ■Preferred Knowledge/Abilities/Experience
Experience in pattern making and planning and development of knit products (regular machine, WHOLEGARMENT machine) is a plus.
Language skills are not required, but you will be required to acquire the English skills necessary for the job after joining the company.

We may conduct a practical test during the selection process.

Employment Status
Temporary employee (with a probationary period of 3 months)
(After the second year, there is a possibility of becoming a regular employee if performance and evaluations meet the criteria for a regular position.)
The employment contract may be renewed in consideration of the company's business needs and the individual's performance (no automatic renewal).
There is no upper limit to the number of contract renewals (total period or number of renewals).

Annual salary
Annual salary range: 4,250,000-7,040,000 (monthly salary: 280,000-440,000)
Commuting allowance, overtime allowance, etc. (*All in accordance with our company's regulations)
Bonuses: Semiannual bonus twice a year, year-end bonus (whether or not it will be paid and the amount will be decided according to the company's performance and personnel evaluation)
Promotion: Twice a year (determined according to personnel evaluation)

(Not limited to the above, but will be determined based on the annual salary and experience of previous employees in accordance with the Company's regulations.

Working hours
Either a general working hours system or a flex-time system. (To be determined based on the nature of the work, expected role, and department to which the candidate will be assigned, and will be announced at the informal interview.)
General working hours
8 hours of actual work between 7:00 and 18:00 with a 1 hour break.
Flextime system
Standard working hours per day ... 8 hours, break ... 1 hour
Core time ... 9:00 - 14:00
Flexible hours ... 6:00 - 9:00 and 14:00 - 20:00 with overtime

Vacations and Vacations
2 days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays), annual paid vacations, special/ congratulatory/condolence leave, childcare/nursing care leave system, etc.

In addition to the holidays mentioned in the preceding paragraph, whether or not national holidays are also considered holidays shall be determined on an individual basis in the employment contract for temporary employees.
