■ Background of the Recruitment
In 2017, we established the Knit Innovation Center within UNIQLO’s headquarters in Ariake, Tokyo, to support UNIQLO’s knitwear development. In May 2025, to further accelerate the development of knit products, we relocated and expanded the Knit Innovation Center to Innovation Factory Co., Ltd. (Shinonome, Tokyo), the Fast Retailing Group’s first in-house factory dedicated to 3D knit production.

The Knit Innovation Center was originally a sample development facility for 3D knits utilizing WholeGarment® technology. However, with the move to Shinonome, we have expanded our capabilities beyond 3D knits by introducing conventional knitting machines (5-gauge, 7-gauge, 12-gauge, and 14-gauge) and installing full-scale fulling and finishing equipment. This has enabled us to establish a comprehensive knit development system that integrates development and production into a single, streamlined process.We are currently recruiting a patternmaker for knitwear.

■Job Description
You will be responsible for patternmaking for knit products. Specifically, your duties will include the following:
・Creating sample patterns based on requests from designers
・Creating samples in collaboration with programmers based on the created patterns
・Creating specifications
・Verifying the quality and finish of samples
・Collaborating with production factories to improve quality during mass production, etc.

■ Career Path
You will start as a knitwear patternmaker. Beyond deepening your expertise in this role, you will have opportunities to take on challenges as a patternmaker for other product categories or to advance into a managerial position overseeing the Knit Innovation Center.

■ Required Knowledge/Experience/Skills
・At least 5 years of patternmaking experience in woven, cut-and-sew, or knit fabrics
・Experience managing the entire process from product planning through patternmaking to mass production while overseeing multiple items
・Strong interest and passion for knitwear (Note: This role does not involve design duties)

■Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Experience
・Proficiency in CAD (preferably Toray Creacompo)
・Proficiency in Shima Seiki APEX is a plus
・Experience in pattern making and product planning/development for knit products (conventional machines and whole-garment machines) is a plus
・Language proficiency is not required, but you will be expected to acquire the English skills necessary for your duties after joining the company

Contract Employee (Fixed-term, with a 3-month probationary period)

■Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 4.25 million – 7.04 million yen (Monthly Salary: 280,000 – 440,000 yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (※All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)

*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, in addition to the above criteria

■ Working Hours
・Either standard working hours or a flex-time system. (Determined based on job duties, expected responsibilities, and assigned department; details will be provided during the job offer interview)
・Standard Work Hours System
8 hours of actual work and 1-hour break between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
・Flexible Work Hours System
Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Flexible hours: 6:00 AM–9:00 AM and 2:00 PM–8:00 PM (Overtime may apply)

■ Holidays and Leave
Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays) Annual paid leave, special leave (including bereavement leave), childcare and nursing care leave systems, etc.

*Whether public holidays are considered days off in addition to the days off listed above will be specified individually in the contract for part-time employees.
*In addition to paid leave, special leave is granted during the first and second half of the fiscal year (the number of days granted varies depending on employment status and the company to which the employee belongs)
