Job Description
■ Background of the Recruitment
In 2017, we established the Knit Innovation Center within UNIQLO’s headquarters in Ariake, Tokyo, to support UNIQLO’s knitwear development. In May 2025, to further accelerate the development of knit products, we relocated and expanded the Knit Innovation Center to Innovation Factory Co., Ltd. (Shinonome, Tokyo)—the Fast Retailing Group’s first in-house factory dedicated to 3D knit production.
The Knit Innovation Center was originally a sample development facility for 3D knits utilizing WholeGarment® technology. However, with the move to Shinonome, we have expanded our capabilities beyond 3D knits by introducing conventional knitting machines (5-gauge, 7-gauge, 12-gauge, and 14-gauge) and equipping the facility with full felting and finishing capabilities. This has enabled us to establish a comprehensive knit development system that integrates development and production into a single, streamlined process.We are currently recruiting a patternmaker for knit products.
■Job Description
You will be responsible for patternmaking for knit products. Specifically, your duties will include the following:
・Creating sample patterns based on requests from designers
・Collaborating with programmers to create samples based on the patterns you have created
・Preparing specifications
・Verifying the quality and finish of samples
・Collaborating with production factories to improve quality during mass production, etc.
*The Job Description is subject to change within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters due to departmental transfers or organizational changes.

You will start as a knit patternmaker. Beyond deepening your expertise in this role, you will have opportunities to take on challenges as a patternmaker for other product categories or to advance into a managerial position overseeing the Knit Innovation Center.

Qualifications
■ Required Knowledge/Experience/Skills
・At least 5 years of patternmaking experience in woven, cut-and-sew, or knit fabrics
・Experience managing multiple items and overseeing the entire process from product planning through patternmaking to mass production
・Strong interest and passion for knitwear (Note: This role does not involve design work)
■Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Experience
・Proficiency in CAD (Toray ClaireCompo)
・Proficiency in Shima Seiki APEX is a plus
・Experience in pattern making and product planning/development for knit products (conventional machines and whole-garment machines) is a plus
・Language proficiency is not required, but you will be expected to acquire the English skills necessary for your duties after joining the company
*Please note that a practical skills test may be conducted as part of the selection process.

Contract Employee (Fixed-term, with a 3-month probationary period)
(Depending on performance and evaluations during the first year of the contract period, if you meet our criteria for conversion to full-time employment, we will consider hiring you as a full-time employee starting in the second year.)
* The employment contract as a contract employee will end after one year, and the contract will not be renewed.
* If you are not hired as a regular employee, your employment contract will end upon expiration of the contract term
■ Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 4.25 million–7.04 million (Monthly Salary: 280,000–440,000)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (※All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.

・Either the standard work hours system or the flex-time system. (Determined based on job duties, expected role, and assigned department; details will be provided during the job offer interview)

8 hours of actual work and 1-hour break between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
Flexible hours: 6:00 AM–9:00 AM and 2:00 PM–8:00 PM; overtime work may occur

Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays) Annual paid leave, special leave (including leave for weddings and bereavement), childcare and nursing care leave systems, etc.
*Whether public holidays are considered days off in addition to the days off listed above will be specified individually in the contract for part-time employees.
*In addition to paid leave, special leave is granted during the first and second half of the fiscal year (the number of days granted varies depending on employment status and the company to which the employee belongs)
