Job Description
■ Background of the Opening
Link Theory Japan, a luxury brand within the Fast Retailing Group—which operates UNIQLO—is dedicated to exceptional fit, fabrics, and style, as well as a spirit of exploration. Our flagship brand, Theory, is a contemporary fashion brand founded in New York in 1997. It infuses its designs with the energy, vibrancy, and sophistication that permeate the streets of New York, and continues to offer timeless everyday wear that never goes out of style.
Link Theory Japan is seeking a candidate to lead the development and execution of global and local branding strategies and plans to more widely communicate the brand and product values of Theory, Theory Men, and theory luxe, thereby increasing brand awareness and securing the brands’ market position.
■ Department Overview
The Marketing Department, to which you will be assigned, is on a mission to accurately convey Theory’s brand and product values to as many customers as possible and turn them into Theory fans.
The Marketing Department consists of three teams: the “Brand Product Marketing Team,” which formulates and executes product marketing strategies to convey seasonal concepts and product appeal; the “Content Production and Communications Team,” which produces creative content based on these strategies and distributes it via e-commerce content, email marketing, and the app; and the “PR Team,” which handles communications across various media, including digital and social media. This position is expected to be assigned to the “PR Team.”
■Job Description
Based on the brand concept, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of communication plans for individual products and projects, from planning through execution. Specifically, your responsibilities will include the following:
1. Collaborate with marketing stakeholders, including the Product Marketing Team, to formulate PR strategies and tactics. Work to increase awareness of Theory’s flagship products and thereby enhance brand value.
2. Planning and managing official social media accounts; creating copy that boosts brand awareness and appeal.
3. Planning and executing events and promotions, such as trade shows and preview events.
4. Building cooperative relationships with various media outlets (including newspapers, TV, and publishers) and diverse stakeholders.
5. Visualize the effectiveness of PR activities and ensure accurate internal feedback on external feedback and insights, among other responsibilities.
■ Position Overview
・At Theory, we are convinced that there is still significant room for growth to compete on a global stage by communicating the value of our products and brand even more effectively than we do now. However, as we are currently in the process of developing the strategies and systems to achieve this, there are numerous opportunities for you to plan and execute initiatives from scratch—while drawing on best practices from other Group brands such as UNIQLO and GU. This is a challenging environment where you can directly contribute to business growth and truly feel the impact of that growth.
・You’ll gain experience not only through existing fashion media but also by using digital media to share your ideas, spark public interest, and drive significant business growth.
・You’ll communicate closely with various internal team members involved in the apparel business—such as those in product development and store staff—and plan and execute marketing initiatives while maintaining a holistic view of the business.
