Job Description

Clothing for everyone, transcending all distinctions such as nationality, age, occupation, and gender. We aim to create clothing that people around the world can easily purchase, that serves as a tool for their individual lifestyles, and that makes them look their best.
The R&D Department is a team of experts dedicated to bringing our “LifeWear” concept to life through products. We are seeking new team members to help us further evolve the creation of clothing that embodies “LifeWear.”
■ Department Overview:
The R&D Department, to which you will be assigned, is a team of experts dedicated to bringing the “LifeWear” concept to life through products. Our in-house designers and patternmakers are active across six global locations centered in Tokyo (Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles).Our mission is to plan products that align with people’s living environments, lifestyles, and the times, and to translate designs based on real-world needs into the “LifeWear” concept. We aim to continuously provide thoughtfully designed, simple clothing that improves and enriches the lives of people around the world. Through our clothing, we strive to continuously drive innovation in society.
■Job Description
As a textile designer, you will be responsible for print design, graphic design, and yarn-dyeing for items such as outerwear and undergarments. Specifically, the Job Description will include the following:
・Proposing textile patterns and creating graphics for apparel and merchandise
・Selecting colors for the created graphics and placing orders with factories
・Conducting extensive research and market analysis
・The Job Description is subject to change within the scope of duties related to various headquarters departments due to departmental transfers or organizational changes.

Qualifications
■ Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・Experience in independently designing textiles for women’s, men’s, and children’s products (at least 3 years of practical experience as a designer)
・Ability to manage multiple items and oversee the entire process from product planning through design to mass production (practical experience in designing products independently and managing the entire process, including commissioning and placing orders with factories)
・Ability to understand domestic and international trends, lifestyles, and consumer needs in the context of global product development and translate them into design concepts
・Ability to create computer graphics using software such as Illustrator and Photoshop
■ Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・This role requires communication in English both internally and externally; candidates must be comfortable handling emails and everyday conversations in English

Work Conditions

■Employment Type:
Contract Employee (Fixed-term contract with a 3-month probationary period)
(Depending on your performance and evaluation during the first year of your contract as a contract employee, if you meet our criteria for conversion to a regular employee, we will consider hiring you as a regular employee starting in the second year.)
* The employment contract as a contract employee will end after a one-year term and will not be renewed
* If you are not hired as a regular employee, your employment contract will end upon expiration of the contract term
■ Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 4.25–10.00 million yen (Monthly Salary: 280,000–570,000 yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (※All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.
■ Working Hours
Standard working hours, flex-time system, or managerial/supervisory status (determined based on job duties, expected role, and assigned department; details will be provided during the job offer interview)
・Standard Work Hours System
8 hours of actual work and 1-hour break between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
・Flexible Work Hours System
Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00–14:00
Flexible hours: 6:00–9:00 and 14:00–20:00; overtime work may be required
・Supervisors
Based on the working hours of the employee’s department; left to the employee’s discretion
■ Holidays and Leave
Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays), annual paid leave, special and bereavement leave, childcare and family care leave systems, etc.
*Whether public holidays are considered days off in addition to the days off listed above will be specified individually in the contract for part-time employees
*In addition to paid leave, special leave is granted during the first and second half of the fiscal year (the number of days granted varies depending on employment status and the company to which the employee belongs)
