Job Description
■Recruitment Background:
“Changing clothes, changing common sense, changing the world.” This is the Fast Retailing Group’s mission statement. Through “clothing”—an indispensable part of people’s lives around the world—we aim to become the world’s most needed and beloved brand. Under the LifeWear concept, we utilize an integrated process spanning from material sourcing to planning, production, and sales to offer unique products made with high-quality and functional materials at prices accessible to everyone. Our revenue has reached 3 trillion yen in the 40 years since our founding, and we have set a long-term goal of 10 trillion yen in revenue. This does not mean that revenue growth is an end in itself; rather, it reflects our commitment to providing the highest level of service our customers seek and becoming a company that improves society alongside our own growth. We view the current period of transformation as our “Fourth Founding,” and one of the drivers of this transformation is the utilization of technology. We are seeking individuals who can join us in driving global digital transformation through the use of technology.
■ Department Overview:
The mission of the hiring department, the “Digital Business Transformation Services Department,” is to create results by defining, building, and ensuring the full utilization of business systems—all with a customer-centric, forward-looking perspective—without barriers between business operations and IT, headquarters and the field, or the physical and virtual worlds.A key feature of our work is that we manage the entire end-to-end process of business and system transformation. Furthermore, while we maintain in-house control over the core aspects of business design and system development, we actively collaborate with companies possessing world-leading technologies and are advancing the adoption of new technologies, including AI.
The IT Strategy Office, the department hiring for this position, manages the entire global IT department from the perspectives of people, resources, and finances within the IT organization, as well as external partners, handling tasks such as investment management, organizational and talent management, and IT governance.
・Designing the global IT organization, strengthening IT talent at overseas locations, and enhancing recruitment of new graduates and mid-career hires
・Promotion of company-wide AI training
• Formulation of medium- to long-term IT investment plans, company-wide IT project management, and monitoring of return on investment
• Planning and implementing cost structure transformation measures
・Global partner development, project consolidation, and offshore outsourcing, etc.
■ Job Description:
To accelerate digital business transformation across the entire Fast Retailing Group, strengthening the IT organization and building a workforce and organizational structure centered on AI are critical priorities.
In this role, you will go beyond simply managing HR systems to take on responsibility for IT organization management, organizational development, and training. You will collaborate with the CIO/CTO, relevant stakeholders within the IT department, and the internal training department to plan and drive the implementation of various initiatives.
Initially, based on your experience and career aspirations, you will lead several projects from the list below.
・Planning, designing, and driving the implementation of company-wide AI training
・Planning IT organizational and talent strategies based on AI adoption, and promoting organizational development initiatives
・Cross-functional management and support for IT projects, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders
・Planning and driving organizational design, staffing plans, and talent development initiatives for the IT organization
・Planning, driving, and supporting the execution of special assignments from the CIO/CTO, etc.
*We expect you to eventually take the lead in resolving personnel and organizational challenges across the entire IT organization.
*The Job Description may change within the scope of duties related to each department within the headquarters due to department transfers or organizational changes.
■ Career Path:
In addition to a career as a leader of people and organizational development within the IT organization, you will have the opportunity to broaden your scope of activity both within and outside the IT organization—including roles such as IT Strategy/Corporate Planning Lead, Assistant to the CIO, PMO, Strategic Implementation, and even leading organizational and talent transformation initiatives within business divisions.
Furthermore, depending on your aspirations and track record, we expect you to advance to roles involving team leadership and organizational management.
