Job Description
■Recruitment Background
The Fast Retailing Group (hereinafter referred to as the FR Group) aims to transform itself from a traditional retailer into a "Digital Consumer Retail Company" that transcends the boundaries of the retail industry, with the goal of becoming the world’s leading apparel group. In particular, we have identified globalization and digitalization as our top priorities and are working to elevate the level of global digital marketing and build the infrastructure and platforms necessary for it. We are seeking a leader to spearhead the Fast Retailing Group’s global performance marketing project, with the goal of swiftly delivering high-quality, personalized information to each and every customer across all digital channels (owned, earned, and paid) within the FR Group.
■ Department Overview
We aim to improve the lives of individuals and society as a whole through clothing. Our mission is to stay close to customers with diverse tastes and values, delivering the most suitable products and useful information to customers worldwide at the most appropriate time. We place great importance on providing experiences that customers will genuinely appreciate and find useful.
The Global Digital Marketing Department, the department for this opening, leverages the Fast Retailing Group’s global customer and purchase data, as well as cutting-edge ad technology, to efficiently and effectively deliver valuable information. Through this, we drive new customer acquisition and purchase activity for all group brands—including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST—worldwide, making a significant contribution to business growth.
The organization is broadly divided into two areas: “Performance Marketing & CRM” and “Social Marketing.” This opening is for the “Performance Marketing & CRM” team. Within this team, members take on three key roles—digital paid advertising operations, marketing, and digital marketing infrastructure development—and work collaboratively to drive business growth.
■Job Description
As the global headquarters, the Japan office leads efforts to drive business growth across all countries where we operate. We leverage all available data and cutting-edge ad technology to ensure that digital marketing teams in each country can implement high-quality, cost-effective digital marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for the entire process—from identifying challenges and formulating strategies to developing execution plans and providing hands-on support for implementation.
While the project scope is outlined below, we would like to assign projects based on your experience and career aspirations.
Additionally, if you have prior experience in organizational management, you may be considered as a candidate for a managerial role within the global headquarters organization, where you would be responsible for management tasks, including talent development.
(1) Driving New Customer Acquisition
・You will lead the process from formulating market development strategies for global new customer acquisition to devising specific implementation measures and providing support for their execution.
(2) Driving Customer Acquisition Initiatives for Stores and E-commerce
・You will be responsible for developing global full-funnel marketing strategies—aimed at driving awareness and sales—through the utilization of key performance marketing channels (APP, SEM, SEO, display ads, social ads, and affiliate marketing), as well as supporting their implementation in each country. *This role may involve overseas business travel.
(3) Solving Management Challenges and Driving Execution Focused on Digital Marketing in Overseas Markets and Regions ・For all businesses operated globally by the Fast Retailing Group—including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST—you will not only solve customer acquisition challenges by integrating online and offline channels through a digital marketing lens, but also support the process from identifying management challenges to execution and delivering results in collaboration with key business units.
・Since the Global Digital Marketing Department’s work covers all brands within the global Fast Retailing Group, this role allows you to create significant business impact through the initiatives you lead.
・Our business encompasses not only e-commerce but also over 2,500 physical stores worldwide, creating new shopping experiences that seamlessly integrate online and offline channels.
・This is an environment where you will drive projects by collaborating flexibly and in a timely manner with digital marketing and marketing professionals based in each country and region where we operate globally.
*The Job Description may change depending on department transfers or organizational restructuring, within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters.
■ Career Path
・From a position at the global headquarters, opportunities to excel extend worldwide, including taking on challenges in other areas such as social marketing, pursuing management roles such as manager or department head, and leading digital marketing efforts in overseas operations.
