Job Description

Recruitment Background

The Fast Retailing Group (hereinafter “FR Group”) aims to transform itself from a traditional retailer into a “Digital Consumer Retail Company” that transcends the boundaries of the retail industry, with the goal of becoming the world’s leading apparel group. In particular, the Group has identified globalization and digital transformation as its top priorities and is working to elevate the level of global digital marketing and build the infrastructure and platforms necessary for it. We are seeking a candidate to lead the Fast Retailing Group’s global performance marketing project, with the goal of swiftly delivering high-quality, personalized information to each and every customer across all digital channels (owned, earned, and paid) within the FR Group.

Department Overview

We aim to improve the lives of each individual and society as a whole through clothing. Our mission is to connect with customers who have diverse tastes and values, and to deliver the most suitable products and useful information to customers around the world at the most appropriate time. We place great importance on providing experiences that customers will genuinely appreciate and find useful.
The Global Digital Marketing Department, the department hiring for this position, makes the most of the Fast Retailing Group’s global customer and purchase data, as well as cutting-edge ad technology, to efficiently and effectively deliver valuable information. Through this, the department helps all Group brands—including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST—acquire new customers and drive purchasing activity worldwide, thereby contributing significantly to business growth.
The organization is broadly divided into two areas: “Performance Marketing & CRM” and “Social Marketing.” This opening is for the “Performance Marketing & CRM” team. Within this team, members take on three key roles—digital paid advertising operations, marketing, and building the foundation for digital marketing—and work collaboratively to drive business growth.

Job Description

As the global headquarters, our Japan office leverages all available data and cutting-edge ad technology to drive business growth across all countries where we operate. We lead digital marketing teams in each country to implement high-quality, cost-effective digital marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for the entire process—from identifying challenges to devising strategies, formulating execution plans, and providing support for actual implementation.
While the project scope is outlined below, we would like to assign projects based on your experience and career aspirations.
Additionally, if you have prior experience in organizational management, you may be considered as a candidate for a managerial role within the global headquarters organization, where you would be responsible for management tasks, including talent development.

(1) Driving New Customer Acquisition
  • You will lead the process from formulating market development strategies for global new customer acquisition to devising specific implementation measures and providing support for their execution.
(2) Driving Customer Acquisition Initiatives for Stores and E-Commerce
  • By leveraging key performance marketing channels (APP, SEM, SEO, display ads, social media ads, and affiliate marketing), you will be responsible for formulating global full-funnel marketing strategies aimed at driving awareness and sales, as well as supporting their implementation in each country. *This may involve business travel abroad.
(3) Resolving Business Challenges and Driving Execution in Overseas Markets with a Focus on Digital Marketing • For all businesses operated globally by the Fast Retailing Group—including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST—you will not only solve customer acquisition challenges by integrating online and offline channels through a digital marketing lens but also support the entire process—from identifying business challenges to execution and delivering results—in collaboration with key business units.
  • Since the Global Digital Marketing Department’s work covers all brands of the global Fast Retailing Group, this role offers the opportunity to create significant business impact through the initiatives you lead.
  • Our business extends beyond e-commerce to include more than 2,500 physical stores worldwide, creating new shopping experiences for customers that seamlessly integrate online and offline channels.
  • This is an environment where you will drive projects by collaborating flexibly and in a timely manner with digital marketing and marketing professionals based in the various countries and regions where we operate globally.
*The Job Description may change depending on departmental transfers or organizational restructuring, within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters.
