Job Description
■ Background of the Recruitment
The Fast Retailing Group (hereinafter “FR Group”) aims to transform its business model beyond the traditional retail framework into a “Digital Consumer Retail Company” and become the world’s leading apparel group. In particular, we have identified globalization and digital transformation as our top priorities and are working to elevate the standard of global digital marketing and build the infrastructure and platforms necessary for it. We are seeking a candidate to lead the Fast Retailing Group’s global performance marketing project, with the goal of swiftly delivering high-quality, personalized information to each and every customer across all digital channels (owned, earned, and paid) within the FR Group.
■ Department Overview
We aim to improve the lives of each individual and society as a whole through clothing. Our mission is to stay close to customers with diverse tastes and values, and to deliver the most suitable products and useful information to customers around the world at the most appropriate time. We place great importance on providing experiences that customers will genuinely appreciate and find useful.
The Global Digital Marketing Department, the department for this position, makes the most of the Fast Retailing Group’s global customer and purchase data, as well as cutting-edge ad technology, to efficiently and effectively deliver valuable information. Through this, the department drives business growth by acquiring new customers and promoting purchasing activity worldwide across all Group brands, including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST.
The organization is broadly divided into two areas: “Performance Marketing & CRM” and “Social Marketing.” This opening is for the “Performance Marketing & CRM” team. This team handles three key roles—digital paid advertising operations, marketing, and the development of digital marketing infrastructure—with each team working in collaboration to drive business growth.
■Job Description
As the global headquarters, our Japan office leverages all available data and cutting-edge ad technology to drive business growth across all countries where we operate. We lead digital marketing teams in each country to implement high-quality, cost-effective digital marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for the entire process—from identifying challenges to devising strategies, formulating execution plans, and providing hands-on support for implementation.
While the project scope is outlined below, we would like to assign projects based on your experience and career aspirations.
Additionally, if you have prior experience in organizational management, you may be considered as a candidate for a managerial role within the global headquarters organization, where you would be responsible for management tasks, including talent development.
(1) Driving New Customer Acquisition
・You will lead the process from formulating market development strategies for acquiring new customers globally to devising specific implementation measures and providing support for their execution.
(2) Driving Customer Acquisition Strategies for Retail Stores and E-Commerce
・You will be responsible for developing global full-funnel marketing strategies—aimed at driving everything from brand awareness to sales—through the use of key performance marketing channels (APP, SEM, SEO, display ads, social media ads, and affiliate marketing), as well as supporting their implementation in each country. *This may involve overseas business travel.
(3) Resolving Business Challenges and Driving Execution in Overseas Markets and Regions with a Focus on Digital Marketing ・For all businesses operated globally by the Fast Retailing Group—including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST—you will not only solve customer acquisition challenges by integrating online and offline channels through a digital marketing lens but also support key business units from identifying management challenges through to execution and delivering results.
・Since the Global Digital Marketing Department’s work covers all brands of the global Fast Retailing Group, the initiatives you are involved in will have a significant impact on the business.
・Our business encompasses not only e-commerce but also more than 2,500 physical stores worldwide, creating new shopping experiences that seamlessly integrate online and offline channels.
・You’ll work in an environment where you’ll drive projects by collaborating flexibly and in a timely manner with digital marketing and marketing professionals based in each country and region where we operate globally.
*The Job Description may change within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters due to departmental transfers or organizational changes.
■ Career Path
・From your position at the global headquarters, you’ll have opportunities to take on challenges in other areas such as social marketing, advance into management roles such as manager or department head, or lead digital marketing efforts at overseas subsidiaries—your opportunities for growth extend across the globe.
