Job Description

■Recruitment Background
The Fast Retailing (hereinafter “FR”) Group is driving company-wide transformation to create a “new industry” based on the “LifeWear” concept, which transcends traditional industry boundaries.
With employees working globally under various employment arrangements, we are seeking an HR Legal Specialist who can leverage their legal expertise to drive HR governance and labor compliance initiatives both domestically and internationally.

■Job Overview
As the Global Headquarters (GHQ), FR’s Japan headquarters is required to manage operations on a global scale, ranging from over 3,500 stores worldwide—including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST—to regional headquarters. Upon joining, your responsibilities will primarily focus on domestic labor affairs, but in the future, you will also handle overseas matters, including the following duties:

・Handling labor-related issues involving employees both domestically and internationally. You will be required to make appropriate risk assessments and respond promptly in accordance with not only Japanese law but also the laws of various countries overseas.
・In addition to handling individual cases, you will lead the development and operation of monitoring systems to prevent issues before they arise, as well as the implementation of training programs.
・We also expect you to introduce systems and policies that enable more flexible and efficient work styles, as well as working conditions that allow employees to remain productive over the long term.
*Please note that payroll processing, social insurance, and onboarding/offboarding procedures are handled by a separate team and are not part of this role.
・The Job Description may change within the scope of duties related to various headquarters departments due to departmental transfers or organizational changes.

Qualifications

■ Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・Deep knowledge of HR-related laws (such as the Labor Standards Act and the Labor Contract Act) and experience applying this knowledge in practice
・Someone who shares the same perspective as management, acts as a driving force for change, and is committed to identifying and resolving challenges
・Someone with excellent judgment who can respect each individual employee on the front lines while pursuing an ideal vision
・A TOEIC score of 800 or higher, or the ability to communicate in English without difficulty in a business setting
*We welcome applicants with a background in legal practice—such as lawyers or prosecutors—even if they do not have specific HR or labor relations experience.

Work Conditions

Full-time Employee (Permanent position, with a 3-month probationary period)

■Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 7.2–11.7 million yen (Monthly Salary: 450,000–650,000 yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (※All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, in addition to the above.

■ Working Hours
Flexible work hours, or managerial/supervisory positions
・Flexible work hours
Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Flexible hours…6:00 AM–9:00 AM and 2:00 PM–8:00 PM (Overtime work may occur)

・Supervisors
Based on the working hours of the employee’s department, with the decision left to the employee

■ Holidays and Leave
Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays; national holidays are working days) Annual paid leave, special leave (including bereavement leave), childcare and nursing care leave systems, etc.
*In addition to paid leave, special leave is granted in the first and second halves of the fiscal year (the number of days granted varies depending on employment status and the company to which the employee belongs)
