The Fast Retailing (hereinafter “FR”) Group is driving company-wide transformation to create a “new industry” based on the “LifeWear” concept, which transcends traditional industry boundaries.
With employees working globally under various employment arrangements, we are seeking an HR Legal Specialist who can leverage their legal expertise to drive HR governance and labor compliance initiatives both domestically and internationally.

Job Overview

As the Global Headquarters (GHQ), FR’s Japan headquarters is required to manage operations on a global scale—from over 3,500 stores worldwide, including UNIQLO, GU, Theory, and PLST, to regional headquarters. Upon joining, your responsibilities will primarily focus on domestic labor affairs; however, in the future, you will also handle overseas matters, including the following duties:

• Handling labor and employment issues involving employees both in Japan and overseas. You will be required to make appropriate risk assessments and respond promptly in accordance not only with Japanese law but also with the laws of various countries around the world.
• In addition to handling individual cases, you will lead the development and operation of monitoring systems to prevent problems before they arise, as well as the implementation of training programs.
• We also expect you to introduce policies and systems that enable more flexible and efficient work styles, as well as work arrangements that allow employees to remain productive over the long term.

*Please note that payroll processing, social insurance, and procedures related to employee onboarding and offboarding are handled by a separate team and are therefore not part of this role.

• The Job Description may change within the scope of duties related to each department of the headquarters due to departmental transfers or organizational changes.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of human resources-related laws (such as the Labor Standards Act and the Labor Contract Act) and experience applying this knowledge in the workplace
• Someone who shares the same perspective as management, acts as a driving force for change, and is capable of identifying and resolving challenges
• An individual with excellent judgment who can respect each and every employee on the front lines while pursuing an ideal vision
• A TOEIC score of 800 or higher, or the ability to communicate in English without difficulty in a business setting

Annual Salary

• Annual Salary Range: 7.2–11.7 million yen (Monthly Salary: 450,000–650,000 yen)
• Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
• Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
• Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)

*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.

Flexible work hours or managerial/supervisory position

• Flexible work schedule

Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Flexible hours…6:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Overtime may be required

Based on the working hours of the employee’s department; left to the employee’s discretion

Holidays and Leave

Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays; national holidays are workdays) Annual paid leave, special leave and bereavement leave, childcare and family care leave systems, etc.
