GU still faces many challenges on its path to becoming a true global brand.We are seeking a Creative Professional to join us in advancing GU’s unique brand value—enabling customers to enjoy fashion to the fullest with a minimal number of SKUs and affordable prices—on the global stage. This will be achieved through transformations across all aspects of the apparel business, including building a stronger management team through the recruitment and development of a diverse workforce; enhancing the quality of products and styling; creating store environments that make shopping easier for customers; improving the accuracy of inventory and sales planning; and establishing a flexible system for additional production.

Department Overview

The Global Marketing Department consists of the Product Marketing Team (covering Product Marketing, Store Marketing, and Creative), the Social Marketing Team, and the PR Team. We are involved in every process from product planning and development to the moment the product reaches the customer’s hands, handling everything from marketing strategy formulation to the execution of initiatives in a seamless, end-to-end manner.The mission of the Product Marketing Team (Creative Division), to which you will be assigned, is to conduct marketing development in tandem with product development, creating marketing assets—such as concepts, visuals, and content—that are globally applicable. Furthermore, the team leads content development from both a brand and a customer perspective to plan and execute story-driven marketing plans, ranging from branding to in-store promotional activities.This is a highly global and challenging environment where you will collaborate with top-tier external creators from around the world, and the content you develop will be rolled out globally.

Job Description

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to build GU’s brand image and customer acquisition strategies across all media handled by GU—including websites, in-store promotional materials, key visuals, and editorial content. Specifically, your responsibilities will include the following:
  • Formulating communication plans; creating creative concepts to bring them to life; and developing and executing specific creative direction
  • Managing creative guidelines
  • Developing and producing fashion creative content in collaboration with external partners
  • Providing detailed direction and making decisions on set
  • Managing the entire content production process, including internal and external coordination, scheduling, and cost management

Qualifications

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • At least 5 years of experience in planning, developing, and supervising creative content at a publishing company, advertising agency, creative agency, or similar organization
  • Ability to provide detailed creative direction to external partners and manage project progress
  • Ability to identify fashion insights and social trends and incorporate them into creative work

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong information processing skills and the ability to multitask
  • Strong customer focus, combined with the flexibility to embrace change while prioritizing the essence of the matter
  • Business-level English proficiency (TOEIC score of 700 or higher as a guideline)

Full-time Employee (Permanent Position, with a 3-month probationary period)

Annual Salary

  • Annual Salary Range: 6.56 million yen – 12.06 million yen (Monthly Salary: 410,000 yen – 670,000 yen)
  • Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
  • Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
  • Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on our company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.
