Job Description

■Recruitment Background
GU, one of the Fast Retailing Group’s flagship brands, aims to become a true global brand by upholding its brand message, “YOUR FREEDOM: The freedom to reinvent yourself,” creating hit products that capture major trends, preventing stockouts of best-selling items, and delivering products and services that exceed customer expectations.
We are also expanding our e-commerce operations overseas and are seeking someone who can drive the further evolution of our e-commerce business both domestically and internationally.

■Department Overview
The Japan Digital Commerce Department, to which you will be assigned, operates an e-commerce site that serves as GU’s largest flagship store globally, balancing sales maximization with branding, and aims to achieve sustainable and disruptive growth for GU’s overall business.
Within this department, you will be assigned to the Site Management Team, which is responsible for formulating strategies, planning, developing, and operating the entire e-commerce site. You will drive projects in collaboration with various departments, including Marketing and Merchandising.

■Job Description
As a member of the team responsible for operating GU’s e-commerce site and app, you will work in coordination with Corporate Planning, Merchandising, Marketing, IMD, Inventory Control, and Sales to handle the entire process—from formulating strategies and creating production plans (by season, month, and week) for your assigned area, to execution and review—in an end-to-end manner. The scope of your impact covers a business volume ranging from tens to hundreds of billions of yen per year.

Specific responsibilities include the following:
・E-commerce Site/App Strategy Development: Based on site analytics, formulate strategies and tactics to achieve sales and profit targets and strengthen branding; establish KPIs; and design A/B tests
・Content Planning, Design, and Production Direction: Based on market and site analytics, develop strategies and tactics for delivering the latest fashion information to customers and improving the site to make it easier to browse and purchase
・Search-Related Optimization: Designing and implementing optimal SEO measures based on search metrics both on and off the site, as well as optimizing on-site search (improving search assistance linked to business objectives)
・Project Management: Collaborating with relevant departments to manage the execution of the above tasks according to schedule
・Web Analytics and Reporting: Analyzing customer behavior on the site using Google Analytics 4 to ensure the proper execution of the weekly PDCA cycle; identifying issues and formulating and implementing solutions
・UI/UX Improvements, New Feature Development, and Next-Generation Service Planning: Aiming to create a website and app that are easy for customers to navigate and make purchases on, and regularly proposing improvement requests to Fast Retailing’s IT department
etc.

*The Job Description is subject to change within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters due to department transfers or organizational changes.

■ Career Path
Depending on your experience and skills, you will initially work in a specific area to gain familiarity with the role. Subsequently, you will be expected to expand your scope of work and lead a team. You will collaborate with various departments—including Business Strategy, IT, Marketing, Logistics, and the Customer Center—to acquire a broad range of knowledge and experience. Depending on your preferences, you may also have the opportunity to direct overseas e-commerce rollout projects beyond Japan, expanding your scope of activity on a global stage.
