Job Description

Recruitment Background

GU, one of the Fast Retailing Group’s flagship brands, aims to become a truly global brand by promoting its brand message, “YOUR FREEDOM: The freedom to reinvent yourself,” creating hit products that capture major trends, preventing stockouts of best-selling items, and delivering products and services that exceed customer expectations.
We are also expanding our e-commerce operations overseas and are seeking individuals who can drive the further evolution of our e-commerce business both domestically and internationally.

Department Overview

The Japan Digital Commerce Department, to which you will be assigned, operates an e-commerce site that serves as GU’s largest flagship store worldwide, balancing sales maximization with branding, and aims to achieve sustainable and disruptive growth for GU’s overall business.
Specifically, you will be assigned to the Site Management Team, which is responsible for formulating strategies, planning, developing, and operating the entire e-commerce site, and you will drive projects in collaboration with various departments, such as Marketing and Merchandising.

Job Description

As a member of the team responsible for operating GU’s e-commerce site and app, you will work in coordination with Corporate Planning, Merchandising, Marketing, IMD, Inventory Control, and Sales to handle the entire process—from formulating strategies and developing production plans (seasonal, monthly, and weekly) for your assigned area, through to execution and review—in an integrated manner. The scope of your impact covers a business volume ranging from several billion to tens of billions of yen per year.

Specific responsibilities include the following:
  • E-commerce Site/App Strategy Development: Based on site analytics, formulate strategies and tactics to achieve sales and profit targets and strengthen branding; establish KPIs; and design A/B tests
  • Content Planning, Design, and Production Direction: Based on market and website analytics, develop strategies and tactics for delivering the latest fashion information to customers and improving the site to make it easier to browse and purchase
  • Search Optimization: Designing and implementing optimal SEO strategies based on on-site and off-site search metrics; optimizing on-site search (improving search assistance linked to business objectives)
  • Project Management: Collaborating with relevant departments to manage the execution of the above tasks according to schedule
  • Web Analytics and Reporting: Analyzing customer behavior on the site using Google Analytics 4 to ensure effective weekly PDCA cycles, identifying issues, and formulating and executing solutions
  • UI/UX Improvements, New Feature Development, and Planning for Next-Generation Services: Aiming to create a website and app that make it easy for customers to choose and purchase products, and regularly proposing improvement requests to Fast Retailing’s IT department
etc.

*The Job Description may change within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters due to department transfers or organizational changes.
