Job Description

GU still faces many challenges on its path to becoming a true global brand.We are seeking a Social Media Marketing Manager to join us in advancing GU’s global challenge—delivering maximum fashion enjoyment through a minimal number of SKUs and affordable prices—by driving transformations across all aspects of the apparel business. This includes building a stronger management team through the recruitment and development of diverse talent; enhancing the quality of products and styling; creating store environments that make shopping easier for customers; improving the accuracy of inventory and sales forecasts; and establishing a flexible system for additional production.


■ Department Overview
The Global Marketing Department’s mission is to enhance GU’s presence both domestically and globally through marketing activities, guided by the brand message “YOUR FREEDOM.”
The Social Marketing Team, to which you will be assigned, aims to develop entirely new approaches and content that do not rely on price benefits such as discounts or coupon distribution, utilizing various social media channels. We strive to implement the marketing strategies necessary to make GU an indispensable part of our customers’ lives.

■Job Description
You will be responsible for the strategy and management of social media accounts, including influencer initiatives, to achieve the highest level of buzz on social media in Japan.
Additionally, we expect you to contribute to strengthening social media marketing for our overseas operations by sharing and applying success stories and know-how from the domestic market to marketing efforts in other countries and regions as a hub.

Initially, you will be responsible for one or both of the following tasks, and we plan for you to contribute to the development of overall marketing strategies by leveraging the experience and insights gained from these roles.

(1) Planning and management of social media accounts (Instagram (+Facebook), X, TikTok)
・Selecting products for posting based on weekly business news, current business conditions, and social media trends, and incorporating these selections into production briefs
・Liaising with production vendors (issuing banner production instructions, quality checks, and handling revisions)
・Scheduling posts and performing final checks
・Preparing weekly and monthly reports
・Verification and analysis of campaign performance ・Compiling a list of challenges for future initiatives, revising posting plans, and generating new ideas

(2) Influencer Campaign Management
・Strategy development and effectiveness verification based on analysis of insights data from each channel
・Design and execution of gifting and sampling campaigns
・Identifying and nurturing influencers
・Planning and management of the official fan community (GU MANIA)

Qualifications

■ Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・3+ years of experience in planning social media promotions, influencer marketing, and managing and analyzing social media accounts
・At least 3 years of practical experience using analytics tools (such as Google Analytics)
・At least 3 years of hands-on experience in direct customer communication, covering the entire process from hypothesis development and scenario creation to execution and effectiveness verification

■Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・Experience in a leadership role driving projects or teams
・Experience managing social media channels other than Instagram
・Experience in query creation, data extraction, and analysis
・Knowledge of data platforms and architecture, as well as experience with various digital marketing infrastructure tools (e.g., Google Analytics, AppsFlyer)
・TOEIC score of 700 or higher (ability to handle business-level email correspondence; conversational and presentation skills are a plus)

Work Conditions

Full-time Employee (Permanent position, with a 3-month probationary period)

■Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 6.56 million yen – 7.04 million yen (Monthly Salary: 410,000 yen – 440,000 yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance; overtime pay provided based on grade
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluation)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, not limited to the figures above

■ Working Hours
Flexible work hours, or managerial/supervisory position
・Flexible Work Hours: Standard daily working hours of 8 hours, 1-hour break, core hours from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, flexible hours from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM; overtime work may be required
・Supervisory staff: Working hours are generally based on the department’s schedule and are left to the employee’s discretion

■Holidays and Leave
Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays; national holidays are workdays), special leave (8 days granted per half-year, separate from paid leave), paid leave, and bereavement leave
