Job Description

■ Background of the Opening
Guided by the mission “We Deliver LifeWear,” the Store Development Department drives business growth by expanding the store network for all Fast Retailing Group brands globally. To build a network of stores that embody LifeWear, integrate with local communities, and have a positive social impact, we are promoting strategic store openings worldwide, with a focus on flagship stores.Our goal is not simply to increase the number of stores, but to open locations where each store can operate successfully as an independent entity, taking into account local characteristics and customer needs. The role required of each store varies depending on its location, size, and surrounding environment, and the key to business growth lies in whether each store can deliver optimal value to its local community.
We are seeking talent to drive Fast Retailing’s business growth by adapting to this rapidly changing era—going beyond mere real estate development to create locations from a “market-in” perspective and implementing an expansion strategy that prioritizes the profitability and sustainability of each individual store.

■ Department Overview
Within our Group, store expansion strategy is synonymous with business growth strategy. The customer shopping experience is significantly influenced by where we locate our stores—which serve as touchpoints with customers—and the concepts we apply to them. Ultimately, we pursue store development that contributes to local communities and urban development—such as creating “destination stores” that draw people to the area and serving as part of the local infrastructure—thereby helping to improve local communities.

■Job Description
This position involves leading the opening of new stores and the reorganization of the store network in Japan for Fast Retailing’s brands, including UNIQLO, GU, and Theory.
・With the goal of enhancing the customer shopping experience and maximizing Group sales and profits, you will formulate national store portfolios and store strategies, and be responsible for the entire process—from proposing these plans to executives at operating companies such as UNIQLO and GU to their implementation.
・Examine and implement various strategic real estate schemes to create stores and facilities that are worth visiting
・Identify and manage strategic actions to maximize the performance of Area Development Managers and achieve store network reorganization
・Drive the development of operational infrastructure—including the digitization of store development operations—and be responsible for improving productivity and implementing work-style transformations.

There is potential to lead the Store Development Department as a leader or department head, as well as opportunities to lead business operations in other departments, including overseas operations.

Qualifications

■ Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・Ability to think openly at a trading company or operating company, not limiting oneself to one’s own area of expertise; to gather insights and team members from both inside and outside the company to build a team; and to drive projects toward ambitious goals as a leader within that team (real estate experience not required)
・Experience leading and achieving results in business initiatives involving transformation, such as business turnarounds, large-scale organizational transformations, strategic shifts, or business development at overseas affiliates
・Experience leading projects and managing teams

■Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・Experience using English in a business setting or a strong desire to take on such challenges

Work Conditions

■Employment Type: Full-time Employee
■Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 8.64–20.00 million yen (Monthly Salary: 540,000–1,000,000 yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotion opportunities twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.

■ Working Hours
Flexible work hours or managerial/supervisory position
・Flexible work schedule
Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Flexible hours…6:00–9:00 and 14:00–20:00 (Overtime may be required)
・Supervisors
Based on the working hours of the employee’s department; left to the employee’s discretion

Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays; national holidays are workdays), annual paid leave, special and bereavement leave, childcare and family care leave systems, etc.
