Job Description
■Recruitment Background
GU, one of the major brands within the Fast Retailing Group, aims to become a true global brand. Guided by its brand message, "YOUR FREEDOM: The freedom to reinvent yourself," GU creates hit products that capture master trends, prevents stockouts of best-selling items, and delivers products and services that exceed customer expectations.
To become a truly global brand, GU still faces many challenges. We seek individuals to join us in advancing this global challenge through GU's unique brand value—maximizing fashion enjoyment with minimal SKUs and prices—through transformations across all aspects of the apparel business. This includes building a stronger management team through diverse talent recruitment and development, enhancing product and styling quality, creating shopper-friendly store environments, improving quantity and sales planning accuracy, and establishing agile additional production systems. We are specifically seeking candidates to drive this initiative within the e-commerce site domain.
■Department Overview
The Japan Digital Commerce Department, where you will be assigned, operates GU's e-commerce site—the world's largest flagship store—balancing sales maximization with branding to achieve sustainable and discontinuous growth for GU's entire business.
Within this department, you will be assigned to the Site Management Team, which handles strategy formulation, planning, production, and operation for the entire e-commerce site. You will collaborate with various departments, including Marketing and Merchandising, to drive projects forward.
■Job Description
You will be the dedicated manager for GU's owned digital channels (expected to handle LINE, email newsletters, and/or APP push notifications). Aligning with Corporate Planning, MD, Marketing, IMD, Inventory Control, and Sales, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of your assigned area: strategic planning, actual production planning (seasonal/monthly/weekly), execution, and review. The scope of influence involves a business scale of hundreds of billions of yen per year.
Specific responsibilities include:
・Channel Strategy Development: Based on numerical analysis of assigned channels, formulate strategies and tactics to achieve business sales/profit targets and drive traffic to stores/e-commerce. Establish necessary KPIs and concrete tactics for achievement.
・Content Planning and Production Direction: Interpret customer insights based on market and business performance results. Plan and direct the production of 52 weeks of content designed to stimulate customer purchasing motivation.
・Distribution Design: Develop and execute optimal distribution designs for each content piece to maximize delivery efficiency.
・Project Management: Collaborate with relevant departments to manage execution according to the above schedule.
・PDCA Cycle: Implementing a weekly cycle of delivery (AB testing) design, production, setup, numerical analysis, and business results review. Developing and executing short-, medium-, and long-term countermeasures based on documented challenges and opportunities.
・Planning for Member Base and Next-Generation Services: Beyond regular distribution, propose improvements to the Fast Retailing IT department on a regular basis. This includes planning services that delight customers and enhancing distribution design through the evolution of customer data management.
*The Job Description may change within the scope of tasks related to each headquarters department due to department transfers or organizational changes.
※This is an environment within an open-minded organization that encourages new challenges, where you can contribute to the company's sales growth while leveraging your experience.
We will flexibly adjust the scope of responsibilities based on your experience.
■Career Path
Depending on your experience and skills, you will initially focus on tasks within a specific area. Subsequently, we expect you to broaden your scope and lead teams. You will collaborate with various departments such as Corporate Strategy, IT, Marketing, Logistics, and Customer Service, gaining extensive knowledge and experience. Depending on your aspirations, you may also direct overseas rollout projects for e-commerce, expanding your scope of activity on a global stage.
