In this role, as a Systems Architect at the Global Headquarters, you will be expected to plan and implement architectures based on the ideal shopping experience for customers worldwide and the ideal workflows for all employees. You will lead the entire process—from planning to delivery—in collaboration not only with relevant internal departments but also with partner companies possessing world-class technical expertise, thereby contributing to the business growth of the entire group.
This position is intended for experts who not only determine system architecture and the technologies to be used but also lead all aspects of system design—including development processes, migration strategies, and operational methods. Furthermore, as a key member of the global headquarters, you will be responsible for devising and implementing fundamental solutions to system challenges.

The Digital Business Transformation Services Department drives growth and innovation across the entire Fast Retailing Group globally through business transformation leveraging the latest technologies. The department comprises members with diverse backgrounds—including engineers, data scientists, and project managers—who work tirelessly every day to create the best possible customer experience. Job Description
As a system architect within the development organization for various systems used across the Fast Retailing Group globally, you will be responsible for the entire process—from conceptualization in collaboration with business departments to system design, development, and delivery. You will work as an architect across a broad range of technical domains related to systems as a whole (from infrastructure to applications), rather than focusing on a specific field. Specifically, your responsibilities include the following:- Based on a thorough understanding of actual business operations, defining ideal business processes and determining the scope and direction of system implementation to align with them
- Designing systems that take into account the interconnections across a wide range of business functions, including product planning, SCM (planning, production, inventory, and logistics), retail/e-commerce, accounting, and human resources
- Reaching consensus on system design with stakeholders across the aforementioned business domains
- Managing the development and delivery of the designed systems
- Providing technical support and guidance to development team members

- SCM Core System Overhaul (Development from scratch of a core system governing product planning, production, and ordering; approximately 1,500 person-months)
- Batch Processing Infrastructure Development (Developed a framework that simplifies the implementation of dynamic distributed processing while maintaining control over processing order dependencies to efficiently handle large volumes of data)
- Development and Operation of a Data Integration Platform (EDI/EAI)
- Data Centralization (Centralized data from all business domains and established an environment enabling end-to-end analysis of information spanning the entire supply chain, from upstream to downstream)
Career Path
Initially, you will optimize data integration by gaining a company-wide perspective on business operations across a broad range of workflows—from planning to production, logistics, and sales. Subsequently, you will have the opportunity to develop your career in either of two directions: delving deeply into specific business domains or designing cross-functional architectures. Additionally, there are opportunities for internal transfers within the Digital Transformation Services Department as well as the chance to work at our overseas offices.Qualifications
Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to lead design, problem identification, and problem-solving while capturing business requirements
- End-to-end experience in design, development, and operations using any of the following programming languages
- Experience in designing system architecture
- Experience managing development as a project leader
- Knowledge of and practical experience with public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Candidates who are willing to actively engage in a work environment where English is used on a daily basis *Current fluency or professional experience is not required
