Job Description

■ Background of the Recruitment
Our corporate statement is “Changing clothing, changing common sense, changing the world.” In creating our products—clothing—we embrace the concept of “LifeWear” (clothing designed to enrich the lives of everyone, the ultimate everyday wear). Sustainability is crucial to realizing this vision and has become one of our top management priorities.
The Sustainability Department is advancing various initiatives, including addressing human rights and environmental impacts within the supply chain; responding to global social issues such as climate change and natural capital; transitioning to a circular business model—including promoting the repair, reuse, and recycling of clothing; and engaging in social contribution activities. We are seeking individuals with experience and skills across diverse fields who resonate with our challenges as described above and are committed to advancing our mission together.
Please see below for examples of our sustainability initiatives.

■ Department Overview:
The Sustainability Department consists of four teams: Business and Social Issue Resolution, Factory Working Environment Transformation, Global Environmental Management, and Disclosure. This position is scheduled to be assigned to the Business and Social Issue Resolution Team. With the team’s mission of “Turning the Power of Clothing into the Power of Society,” we expect you to take the lead in solving social issues and creating new value through the apparel business, particularly in the field of social innovation.

■Job Description
You will be responsible for planning and promoting the Fast Retailing Group’s social contribution activities. Working in collaboration with UN agencies and NGOs, you will contribute to solving social issues and realizing a sustainable society through the apparel business. Additionally, by promoting activities that engage employees, you will work to enhance the company’s social trust.
As part of GHQ’s functions, you will collaborate with operations in each country, take responsibility for specific countries, engage with local social issues and organizations, and consistently lead the planning, execution, and improvement of initiatives. You will also be responsible for specific projects; for large-scale initiatives, you may collaborate with a team of several members, dividing roles according to the specific UN agency or international organization involved.
We promote initiatives globally and domestically, focusing primarily on the following two areas:
(1) Support for People in Difficult Circumstances
We plan and implement support programs—including refugee assistance, as well as support for the poor, women, and children—in collaboration with various organizations.
(2) Educational support for children—the next generation—and fostering mutual prosperity with local communities
Promoting the “Let’s Deliver the Power of Clothing Project” and expanding it globally, as well as developing programs to provide learning opportunities through workplace experiences

■ Career Path
The social contribution field encompasses not only humanitarian aid but also areas related to the environment and supply chains. In the future, you will have opportunities to take on various challenges in fields such as the environment, human rights and labor, and public relations, depending on your interests and expertise.
