For this position, we are seeking a core member of our department who can drive material development that leads to competitive advantage by collaborating with internal and external partners.

■ Department Overview
・The Production Department, to which you will be assigned, is committed to achieving optimal quality, cost, and delivery times so that customers can purchase what they want, when they want it, and where they want it.
・In addition, the department leads efforts to maximize sales and profits through the development of hit products and to strengthen win-win partnerships that enable mutual growth between Fast Retailing and our partner material manufacturers.
・The Production Department has staff based at domestic and overseas locations, organized into teams responsible for the Men’s, Women’s, and Kids’ categories.

■ Job Description
・To bring innovative products to market, we strategically develop materials from various perspectives. During the planning stage, we collaborate with material manufacturers to develop competitive materials, and we manage these materials throughout the entire production process—from formulating mass-production plans to conducting quality control on the finished products.
・We also conduct material development and improvements for the upcoming season. In collaboration with the Research & Development Department (the department responsible for apparel planning and design), we conduct trend-conscious material development to create marketable products by adapting customer requests, market trends, and the latest fashion trends in the UNIQLO style.
・We formulate strategies and measures to strengthen partnerships with fabric manufacturers and achieve optimal global sourcing.
・Job responsibilities may change depending on departmental transfers or organizational restructuring, within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters.

■ Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・At least 5 years of experience working with designers on fabric planning and development at a textile manufacturer, trading company, apparel company, or similar organization, as well as specialized knowledge of fabrics and development experience
・Project management skills, the ability to identify issues, and problem-solving skills
・Ability to communicate fluently in English—reading, writing, and speaking—in a business context

■Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・Experience collaborating on development projects with overseas fabric manufacturers is a plus
・Experience in fabric development from the raw material stage is a plus

■Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 7.2–11.52 million yen (Monthly Salary: 450,000–640,000 yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.
