Job Description
■Recruitment Background:
Fast Retailing is driving the ultimate supply chain transformation—one that no other company in the world has achieved: “manufacturing, transporting, and selling exactly what customers want, when they want it, and in the exact quantities they need.” To realize this vision, it is essential to review all logistics infrastructure from the ground up—including building optimal systems and networks across the entire global supply chain, establishing and strengthening strategic partnerships, and introducing state-of-the-art automated warehouses—and to continuously improve and utilize these systems. For this position, we are seeking a leadership candidate to spearhead a fundamental transformation of our global supply chain as we aim to achieve consolidated group sales of 5 trillion yen and eventually 10 trillion yen.
The Global Supply Chain Management Department, to which you will be assigned, is responsible for building and executing the fastest and most optimal transportation network to supply “Life Wear” to countries around the world. We deliver the necessary products in the required quantities immediately from production sites to warehouses in each country and to all stores, while also delivering products as quickly as possible to customers who have purchased via e-commerce.Under our corporate statement, “Changing clothes, changing common sense, changing the world,” we control all logistics processes in-house to deliver the best possible service to our customers and optimize our business operations.
■Job Description:
You will lead the entire process—from identifying logistics challenges and exploring ideal scenarios and solutions to their implementation—in close collaboration with business leaders and brand managers across our international operations. This is a highly critical and challenging position that requires you to transcend departmental and functional boundaries, break free from the status quo, and lead the realization of world-class logistics operations. Specific responsibilities will be determined through ongoing discussions during the selection process.
・Policy Development and Consensus Building: Based on each business unit’s operational plans, you will clarify the core pillars of supply chain transformation and target logistics cost levels. Building on this, you will develop initiatives—such as reforming transportation methods and routes, reevaluating warehouse functions, services, and floor space, and exploring labor-saving measures through warehouse automation—and lead the process of building internal consensus.
・Execution of Transformations and Delivery of Results: You will drive operational transformations in countries around the globe based on the internally agreed-upon plan. While local personnel will lead the execution, you will travel to sites as needed to resolve issues that arise during implementation, ensuring the project is steered toward the delivery of final results.
・Development of Best Practices and Global Standardization: You will be responsible for standardizing operations worldwide by identifying and rapidly deploying the world’s best practices and know-how. Through optimizing inventory turnover at the SKU level, proposing optimal KPI levels and management methods, and promptly sharing safety and quality-related issues, you will help build world-class logistics operations globally.
*Depending on your skills and experience, you may be assigned to training or operations at physical stores or company-owned warehouses upon joining the company.
*The Job Description may change within the scope of duties related to various headquarters departments due to department transfers or organizational changes.
■ Career Path:
・After gaining practical experience in management transformation involving countries worldwide from a base in Japan, you are expected to take on a leadership role as the logistics manager in each country where our business operates. As a pioneer in supply chain transformation, we anticipate that you will contribute to solving a wide variety of challenges on the global front lines in the future.
