Job Description
■Recruitment Background:
Fast Retailing is driving the ultimate supply chain transformation: “manufacturing, transporting, and selling exactly what customers want, when they want it, and in the exact quantities they need.” As our business grows rapidly, the complexity of supply has increased year by year, and the supply chain has evolved from a mere logistics function into the core of our business—one that directly influences sales and the customer experience. To achieve this, it is essential to review all logistics infrastructure from the ground up—including building optimal systems and networks across the entire global supply chain, as well as establishing and strengthening strategic partnerships—and to continuously improve and utilize these systems. For this position, we are seeking a leadership candidate who will take the lead on various initiatives at the forefront of this global supply chain transformation and see them through to successful completion.
■ Department Overview:
The Global Supply Chain Management Department, to which you will be assigned, is responsible for building and executing the fastest and most optimal transportation network to supply “Life Wear” to countries around the world. The supply chain is a field where multiple functions are intricately intertwined; this department operates as a project-based organization that swiftly implements transformations in coordination with frontline operations while cutting across these functions.
■Job Description:
You will lead the entire process—from identifying logistics challenges to discussing ideal scenarios and solutions with executives from overseas operations and brands, and finally implementing those solutions—in a seamless, end-to-end manner. By transcending departmental and functional boundaries and thinking beyond the status quo, you will spearhead the implementation of logistics operations and contribute to sales growth and improved customer experience, starting with the supply chain.
Specific mission details will be determined through ongoing discussions during the selection process.
・Planning Initiatives and Building Consensus: Based on each business unit’s growth strategy and business plan, you will define the ideal supply chain structure. You will then formulate initiatives—such as optimizing transportation modes and routes, reviewing warehouse functions and locations, and improving productivity through warehouse automation—and lead the process of building consensus by engaging internal and external stakeholders.
・Implementing transformations and delivering results: Based on the agreed-upon initiatives, you will drive operational transformations in countries around the world. Working in collaboration with local representatives, you will visit sites in person as needed to resolve issues that arise during implementation and lead the effort through to the delivery of final results.
・Development of Best Practices and Global Standardization: You will compile success stories and insights gained from initiatives in each country and rapidly roll them out globally. You will drive global operational standardization through SKU-level inventory optimization, the refinement of KPI design and management methods, and the sharing and improvement of safety and quality-related issues.
*The Job Description is subject to change within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters due to department transfers or organizational changes.
■ Career Path:
・Based in Japan, you will lead supply chain transformations involving countries around the world.
・Subsequently, depending on your aspirations and aptitude, you will take on roles such as leading a team as a manager responsible for organizational management and talent development in Japan, or leading operations as a logistics manager at overseas locations.
