Job Description
Background
Fast Retailing Group is expanding its business to become the world's No.1 information manufacturing and retailing company. We are looking for a person who is in charge of store design and construction cost management, which is indispensable for accelerating the opening of new stores on a global scale.
Outline of the department
This is an important position that will enable us to maximize profits and expand our business through project cost management across a wide range of domestic and overseas markets for all Fast Retailing Group brands, including UNIQLO, GU, and Theory. The main mission of this position is to propose appropriate costs and management methods, and to ensure that project execution in the Fast Retailing Group permeates the global market.
Job Description
1、Standardize and promote cost management standards to support store development, design, construction, and maintenance
Standardize and manage the execution of investments that realize Fast Retailing's vision, as well as the processes involved. The items to be standardized range from simple purchasing items to bids for store investments, and the client will propose and manage the execution of more efficient investment methods without being bound by existing practices. In addition, you will be expected to identify problems in the day-to-day development, design and construction, and maintenance operations, and create the standards necessary for proper budget assembly and appropriate execution.
2、Execution of investment management related to store design and construction on a global basis
In order to eliminate variations in the accuracy of cost management in each country in the areas of store design and construction, Fast Retailing's global standards will be established and management will be implemented to ensure global distribution and adherence to these standards. Identify and resolve issues in investment execution, and promote cost reduction opportunity opportunity development as a global one-team activity.
For irregular individual investment projects, mainly large-scale projects, you will assess the contents of estimates, propose VE & cost reduction measures, and in some cases, negotiate directly with vendors, while collaborating with other departments and project members.
3、Execute global vendor management and build valuable partnerships with external companies
You will be responsible for optimizing the design, construction, equipment, and material purchasing systems for roadside stores and building-in stores. You will proactively respond to ever-changing social conditions and develop opportunities to maximize optimal purchasing and order volumes. Proactive actions not only in Japan but also globally and optimal management in each country are required.
4、Educate global members, check the status of store design and construction cost management and penetration of standards in each country, and take the lead in strengthening the organization.
In addition to setting standards, you will also conduct training and ongoing monitoring for internal and external parties involved in the actual development, design, construction, and maintenance. We aim to establish a muscular organizational structure with a small number of elite members on a global basis.

Experience in construction project management as an owner (client) or PM, or experience in purchasing, planning and cost estimation (experience in total management of construction and facilities is a plus)
High level of ability to negotiate with business partners and communicate with related departments within the company, and be able to promote smooth operations.
A challenging spirit that allows for new approaches and solutions based on new ideas, not bound by conventional ways of doing things.
Business level English skills (to work with members from various countries as a global headquarters)
Experience, skills, and abilities that are welcome
Qualifications in construction and building equipment (architect, construction management engineer, facility design/facility management) are a plus.
