Job Description

■Recruitment Background
The Fast Retailing Group is expanding its business with the goal of becoming the world’s No. 1 information-driven retail company. We are seeking a candidate to take charge of cost management for store design and construction—a role essential to accelerating our global store expansion.

■Department Overview
You will hold a key role responsible for maximizing profits and expanding business through project cost management across all Fast Retailing Group brands—including UNIQLO, GU, and Theory—in a wide range of domestic and international markets. The primary mission of this position is to propose appropriate costs and cost management methods, and to ensure the global implementation of project execution standards throughout the Fast Retailing Group.

■Job Description
1. Standardizing and promoting cost management guidelines to support store development, design, construction, and maintenance
You will standardize and manage the processes for executing investments that realize Fast Retailing’s vision. While items range from simple purchases to tenders for store investments, you will be expected to propose and manage the implementation of more efficient investment methods without being constrained by existing practices. Additionally, you will identify issues in day-to-day development, design, construction, and maintenance operations, and establish the standards necessary for proper budgeting and execution.

2. Implementation of Investment Management for Global Store Design and Construction
In the field of store design and construction, you will establish Fast Retailing’s global standards to eliminate variations in cost management accuracy across countries, and implement management practices to ensure these standards are disseminated and adhered to worldwide. You will drive activities as part of a “Global One Team” to identify and resolve challenges in investment execution and develop opportunities for cost reduction.
For irregular, individual investment projects—particularly large-scale ones—you will collaborate with other departments and project members to evaluate estimates, propose value engineering (VE) and cost-reduction measures, and, when necessary, negotiate directly with vendors.

3. Execution of global vendor management and establishment of valuable partnerships with external companies
You will be responsible for optimizing the design, construction, and procurement systems for equipment and materials at both roadside and in-building stores. You will proactively respond to rapidly changing social conditions and develop opportunities by maximizing the benefits of optimal procurement and order volumes. This role requires proactive action not only in Japan but globally, as well as optimal management in each country.

4. Leading organizational strengthening by implementing training for global team members and monitoring the status of store design and construction cost management, as well as the adoption of standards, in each country
In addition to setting standards, you will conduct training and ongoing monitoring for internal and external stakeholders involved in development, design, construction, and maintenance. We aim to establish a lean, high-performing global organizational structure with a small, elite team.

Qualifications

■Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・Experience in construction project management as a client (project owner) or project manager (PM), or experience in procurement, planning, and cost estimation (experience in the comprehensive management of architecture and facilities is a plus)
・Advanced skills in negotiating with business partners and communicating with relevant internal departments, along with the ability to drive projects forward smoothly
・A pioneering spirit that allows you to implement new initiatives and solutions with fresh ideas, unbound by conventional methods
・Business-level English proficiency (to work with members from various countries as part of our global headquarters)

■ Desirable Experience, Skills, and Abilities
・Qualifications related to architecture and building systems (e.g., Architect, Construction Management Engineer, or qualifications in systems design and management) are a plus

■Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 7–14 million yen (Monthly Salary: 440,000–700,000 yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, and is not limited to the figures listed above.

Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Flexible hours…6:00–9:00 and 14:00–20:00; overtime work may occur
