Job Description

Recruitment Background

The Fast Retailing Group is driving company-wide transformation to create a “new industry” based on the “LifeWear” concept, which transcends the traditional boundaries of the apparel industry.
To promote the UNIQLO brand and products created based on the “LifeWear” philosophy, you will be responsible for planning and executing communication strategies from the ground up, both nationwide and in specific regions. We are seeking a wide range of candidates who can go beyond the confines of the marketing department, collaborate with other departments, and lead the development of communication strategies and store layouts that are appealing to customers.

Department Overview

The Marketing Department’s mission is to accurately convey the “value” of our brands and products to customers. We are strengthening our capabilities to deepen this understanding and further shift the focus of product development toward a market-in approach.
The department consists of the Global Marketing Division—whose primary mission, as the global headquarters, is to provide appropriate direction based on the medium- to long-term strategies of each country—and the Japan Marketing Division, which plans communication strategies for the domestic market and is responsible for their execution in collaboration with other specialized media teams within the Marketing Department, as well as stores and related departments.

Job Description

As the central hub of the Japan Marketing Department, you will analyze customer needs, identify new business opportunities, and develop strategies. You will be responsible for communications regarding the value we provide—ranging from products and services to new store openings and various corporate activities that contribute to peace and stability in local communities—while building an annual plan that takes into account not only UNIQLO’s unique events, such as the Thanksgiving Sale, but also seasonal events, annual celebrations, and product launches throughout the year.
  • You will formulate and execute communication strategies based on the above.
  • You will implement initiatives that contribute to daily business performance.
  • We collaborate with internal and external creatives to produce communication strategies and creative content across a wide range of media channels, including TV commercials, digital promotions, radio, newspaper ads, transit advertising, in-store promotional materials, and events.
*The Job Description is subject to change within the scope of duties related to each department of the headquarters due to departmental transfers or organizational changes.

Career Path

  • As a domestic product marketing manager, you will begin by overseeing marketing communications that clearly convey the value of brands and products to customers for each category, and we expect you to broaden your experience through various projects while collaborating with related departments.
  • Since UNIQLO Japan serves as the global headquarters, we expect you to continuously hone your language skills. Based on that, the following career paths are possible:
  • Assuming a management role within the Japan marketing organization (promotion to leader or department head)
  • Rotation to global marketing or creative roles (leveraging your experience in Japan to broaden your expertise in a global capacity)
  • Overseas assignments as a marketing manager in various countries (we have a track record of such assignments)
You will be able to directly contribute to UNIQLO’s branding and sales through branding and promotional activities related to products, services, annual events, new store openings, and corporate initiatives. We encourage you to think outside the box and take on new challenges.
