Job Description

Reason for Hiring

Celebrating its 20th anniversary since its launch in 2003, “UT” is expanding its global presence in regions such as the U.S., the EU, and ASEAN. Consequently, the role of the Global Headquarters (GHQ) in providing marketing direction to each country is becoming increasingly important. We are seeking a candidate who can vigorously drive “UT’s” marketing efforts so that we can continue to deliver timeless value to customers around the world.

Department Overview

“UT,” UNIQLO’s T-shirt brand, began in 2003 as the “UNIQLO T-shirt Project.” Under the theme “T-shirts: More Freedom, More Fun,” it has widely promoted T-shirts to society as a tool for freely expressing individuality. In the fall of 2006, the “Japanese Pop Culture Project” served as the highlight of the opening of the UNIQLO SOHO NY store. This project attracted significant attention when leading Japanese artists used T-shirts as canvases to freely express “Contemporary Tokyo” through their creative visions. This success accelerated our efforts to create the world’s best T-shirts. Since then, we have continued to collaborate with artists, characters, companies, and brands from around the world, delivering an overwhelming variety of graphic T-shirts to our customers every year.By realizing collaborations that amaze customers around the world—centered on culture and embodying UNIQLO’s “LifeWear”—we are driving UNIQLO’s journey to become the world’s number one apparel brand in both name and reality.

Job Description

As a project manager at the global headquarters, you will drive various UT initiatives—ranging from planning and conceptualization to the execution of marketing strategies—across a wide range of content, including art, manga, fashion, and characters.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Developing communication plans in collaboration with licensors
(sales promotion content and assets for in-store and social media, event execution, etc.)
  • Creative production of various informational content and events in collaboration with internal and external creators based on the above plans
  • Planning and executing UT brand communications utilizing video content in collaboration with global media partners
  • Implementing marketing plans and providing sales promotion support to marketing teams in each country
Taking your previous experience and skills into account, you will begin by focusing primarily on marketing-related tasks centered on UT—or on licensing-related tasks such as contract negotiations with licensors—from among the responsibilities listed above. In the future, there is a possibility that your scope of work will expand to include both types of duties.
*The Job Description is subject to change within the scope of duties related to each department of headquarters due to department transfers or organizational changes.
