Job Description
■Recruitment Background
GU, one of the Fast Retailing Group’s flagship brands, aims to become a true global brand by upholding its brand message, “YOUR FREEDOM: The freedom to reinvent yourself,” creating hit products that capture major trends, preventing stockouts of best-selling items, and delivering products and services that exceed customer expectations.
GU still faces many challenges on its path to becoming a true global brand. These include building a stronger management team through the recruitment and development of a diverse workforce; enhancing the quality of products and styling to create a shopping environment that is easy for customers to navigate;improving the accuracy of inventory and sales forecasts, and establishing a flexible system for additional production. We are seeking a candidate for the role of O2O Business Planning and Development Leader who can join us in advancing this global challenge—based on GU’s unique brand value of allowing customers to enjoy fashion to the fullest with a minimal number of SKUs and affordable prices—through transformations in every aspect of the apparel business.
■Department Overview
We operate the “GU Online Site,” the world’s largest flagship store that balances commerce and branding, and aim to achieve sustainable and disruptive growth in our e-commerce business as the engine of our company’s expansion.
The Store-e-Commerce Integration Team, for which we are currently recruiting, will collaborate with various departments to promote omnichannel initiatives and create a more seamless shopping experience between physical stores and e-commerce through digital touchpoints.
■Job Description
From both a product and service perspective in O2O, you will drive a more seamless shopping experience between physical stores and e-commerce through digital touchpoints, aiming to realize a world where “the clothes customers truly want are there when they want them, and they can buy them immediately.”
Your mission is to review business performance from a customer-centric perspective and collaborate with various departments—from product development to sales staff customer service—across the entire business value chain to drive omnichannel transformation. You will work closely with our digital specialists to plan and implement new services based on the GU app—which has been downloaded more than 45 million times in total—and to improve the app’s usability based on customer feedback.
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following:
(1) Expanding the customer base that uses both physical stores and e-commerce
(2) Expanding the number of users who opt for in-store pickup
(3) Introducing new services that integrate physical stores and e-commerce
* (Specific examples) New implementation of in-store pickup (Click & Collect) and ORDER & PICK services, etc.
■Career Path
Upon joining, you will gain an understanding of our in-store and online businesses while supporting the advancement of existing service initiatives. We expect you to take on the role of Product Manager at an early stage. Your scope of work will extend beyond Japan; you will scale domestic initiatives globally to deliver new experiential value to customers worldwide.
